I just don't get the excitement with the Apple watch? Functionally it looks very similar to Android wear, has gen 1 smartphone battery life and it'll definitely mark you out as a complete .... when you wear it in public.

Apple Watch looks like a bomb to me... What a pointless overpriced device.

It'll sell just because it is from Apple, they are going to have to figure something out to keep it selling past the first gen.

The software I run doesn't care how underpowered other MFGs machines are, it still demands more than this to run.

I think my notebook came with 8 gigs... in 2008.

Then this class of machine is in no way shape or form aimed at you. It's a Core M processor which probably isn't much faster than your cpu from 2008 either.

The 13" uses a dual core CPU which has Broadwell updates available. There's no quad-core Broadwell CPU for the 15"...
