The software I run doesn't care how underpowered other MFGs machines are, it still demands more than this to run.

I think my notebook came with 8 gigs... in 2008.

lol. Very few notebooks came with 8 GBs in 2008. Very few notebooks come with 8 GBs in 2015.

Yawn.

I'm actually beginning to miss those crazy Samsung keynotes.

At least they usually had something totally unexpected. Weird, but unexpected.

I think lots of us thought that the 12" MacBook wouldn't happen today.

So this MacBook looks pretty nice in terms of design, but I'm worried that the processor won't be powerful enough for my needs.

I'm gonna be attending dental school in the fall, so portability is definitely a big concern of mine. But the MBP13" is pretty light as it is.

I pretty much just need to watch video podcasts of lectures, simple word processing (preferably with google docs/drive), I use spotify, and might need to run some dental programs later in my education.

Would the M chip be sufficient for this type of computing? What type of computing would necessitate a more powerful chip?

We don't need these demonstrations!

Hate to invoke Steve Jobs but he always knew how to cut out the crap!

I guess I'm kinda hoping for a last-minute surprise "iPhone 4s supports the Apple Watch!" :(

I just don't get what the excitement with the Apple watch? Functionally it looks very similar to Android wear, has gen 1 smartphone battery life and it'll definitely mark you out as a complete .... when you wear it in public.

I was really expecting them to push it as more of a fashion accessory since the smart functions don't seem to be that great.

Although it is possible people will come back 5 years from now and laugh at this thread since the :apple:watch might be made better in gen 2 or 3.

I think this keynote will go down in the annals of history as being one of the worst AND most awkward ever.

Not sure if serious...

I hope we don't start seeing too many people using their watches to answer their phone in public and making us listen to their entire conversations...

Errr. Yes.

It will be fine for that kind of work. If you were doing processor intensive work like video processing, 3d work, compiling code, etc. that'd be reason to get a faster machine. This will be fine for most general use.

Yes, I'd have had Angela Ahrendts or Craig Federighi do this keynote. Kevin Lynch is a bit "nerdy" and boring.
