Actually, the stock did go up during the keynote of the first iPhone. Jobs even made a remark about it on-stage.

I stand corrected Sir though, if I remember correctly, Apple managed to keep the lid on those rumours pretty well. Nobody really knew for sure what was coming.

You're wrong. It's not just blur. It's depth of field blur. They need 2 lenses to do depth of field calculations and then apply a different level of blur with depth.
