Why is it 'cool'? How is the gender of a speaker in any way shape or form relevant?

"Cool" meaning good. In the same way it's good to have racial diversity. It presents different points of view. And given that it's not just men who use technology, it's good to have women represented in these presentations. In 2015, this shouldn't require an explanation.
