It's mainly for PR purposes so Apple can point to it when people call for solutions for smartphone addiction

Watching this, it certainly looks very dark to me. I hope a dark mode is the one more thing... we shall see.

Would be nice. But things has really gone downhill when the most anticipated feature we can realisticly expect is a dark theme

iOS 12 performance improvements and grouped notifications are really the best that happened so far.

Sounds boring, but honestly it's a huge improvement on user experience.

If only Siri was as good as Alexa....

You’re not paying attention. Siri Shortcuts just expanded Siri’s capabilities to virtually unlimited “skills”. You can create a Siri shortcut for any action within your favourite apps. That leapfrogs Alexa because the user can create any skill — you don’t have to wait for an app developer to create that skill.
