I've used it a few times. It's sorta fun and then you can also make them into gifs with other apps.

I switched over to iOS just over a year ago after using WP for a few years (and before that, Android). WP launched their version of live photos a couple years before Apple on their high end Lumia phones and their version was light years ahead of Apple's version and actually sort of fun. I find Apple's implementation to be annoying and jumpy in comparison to the WP version so turned it off as soon as I figured out how.

Use it all the time. Great for capturing kids' silliness.

I dont use it as one site I use means I cannot post the pictures.

plus find it pointless and annoying.
sometimes use iphone to take photos of windows product keys etc that are worn then zoom in to make then out but live pointless for such a job

    Hell, no. Totally dumb.

Apple really knows how to lay some eggs. I'll say that.

3D Touch is just barely less of a brain fart. Certainly is not worth a thicker, heavier phone.

    Dumb!

I used to think they were a bit pointless. With the new memories feature that uses the cpatured video as part of the slideshow/montage I've found it to be a really nice feature.
Recently went on holiday to Disneyland and left the Live Photos feature on. The memories compilation that was generated at the end made a really amazing compilation of the trip, seeing the photos of the characters moving and waving and being animated made such a big difference. It totally made me see how they can really bring a photo montage to life and I've completely changed my opinion of the Live Photos. I leave the feature on most of the time now.

Man, I love Live photos. For kids it's awesome. It also helps you remember the whole ambiance later when you can hear the sounds.

Just out of curiosity, is this even available to Android users?

If the pics are transferred to a nas, will the retain the live portion? ( obviously it would be accessed by Apple products.

I even forgot my 6S+ and 6S could do that. I have never used it.

I use it by default with my 128GB 7. If a situation calls for a still photo, I'll turn it off. It's fun, and with OIS on the 4.7" iPhone, much more useful this year.

I thought I would never use this feature, but since getting the 7 I love using it. It's definitely just a gimmicky, fun thing to do so I treat it as such. It's actually about the only thing I use 3D touch for.
