Tim cook is already onstage, he's hiding under the white sheet there ready to go Boo iPhone 5!

They are live streaming some of the interviews just not Tim Cook.

Sometimes I don't get Apple's PR. Would it really hurt to let this be streamed? Same thing happened last year when Jony Ive spoke at a British design/technology summit. Everyone else's remarks were video taped and put online. Apple refused to allow Jony's remarks to be taped. I mean geez it's not like these guys are divulging state secrets or something.

Does anybody find it odd that Apple's main PR person and marketing chief are there ?

No. They may be there to support Cook with bullet points for his conversations or provide off-camera comments/clarifications while they are there.

I don't think it was their call. If I recall correctly, most of the "Headliners" in the past were not live either. This includes Gates and Jobs.

Plus, Steve was notorious for bringing many head officials to non-Apple press events. Much like you said for comments/clarifications, people in charge of iOS or marketing know way more in detail than that of a CEO. Not saying he lacks knowledge though :D

Then they must have released it later. Because I've watched the Steve/Bill interview on YouTube.

They're going to announce the spinoff of Apple Computer Inc.
Woz will walk on stage and pull a sheet off of the new Mac Pro,
Mac Mini and iMac.

"Hi, my name is Steve and I'm the new CEO of Apple Computer Inc.

Oh and one more thing...

The new i7 Macintosh, on sale tomorrow for $1,499."

I hope they ask about his homosexuality and What If anything he would like to do to continue to progress the gay acceptance in society.
I hope they don't because making it a talking point is just further proof that we're backward. It's a non-issue. The fact that anyone cares about his sexuality is the problem.
