Locking the cache for a memory region in OSX/ppc

Hello,
I'm aware this question might be very specific. I would like to use the PPC capabilities to lock the cache for a particular memory region (this involves supervisor-only ppc instructions). Do you know of any interface ever made for that in usermode that doesn't require me to use kexts?
 
I don't know.

What's wrong with using kexts? In early Mac OS X, a kext can be loaded and unloaded at will without a restart.
