This is something funny I noticed this morning as I watched Logan, purchased through iTunes. I'm sharing this partially out of amusement, and also just really curious if others have it this same way --
Everything seems intact throughout the movie except for one word. A few times during the film, a certain swear word that refers the male anatomy and starts with the letter D is said. And each time, it was muted out.
The first occurrence, I think, was during Charles' and Logan's first dialogue at the beginning of the movie. It was so quick and subtle I thought it maybe an audio glitch and I didn't pay it enough mind.
The second time, when Logan and Eriq LaSalle's character are out in the field at night checking the water supply and the local bad guys come to give Eriq LaSalle trouble. Logan uses the censored word when talking to the bad dudes. This time I played it back to make sure. The subtitles were uncensored. The audio muted out the word.
Third time I noticed is near the very end, when a kid character (boy who looks like Rami Malek) yells out the word. Same censoring of that very particular word.
I really think this is just a mistake in the version that Fox has given out to iTunes. But as silly as it is, I also thought it important enough to send Apple feedback about how they are, very-likely-unwittingly, giving customers a censored version of a movie. It was… such a weird thing to broach inside of an Apple Customer Support Chat. But it's important that they know if this is happening with the movies they're selling us.
If anyone else has the movie in their library and wants to check, please do. I was watching the color version today. I didn't notice this when watching the Noir version a couple months ago. The easiest spot I know to check is Logan's line at the 1:20:35 mark. "Go play Okie ****head somewhere else."
