If they were making $40+ an hour I would surely have higher expectations. They are lucky to make $40k a year.
I surely wouldn’t invest my non-Apple time looking up stuff to better serve a near trillion dollar company for a few bucks and discounts.
I challenge you to work in a store, on top of your regular job, as most there are part timers, which most are, with a full another job and/or balancing family.
All of the people I know are pretty sharp when it comes to the products they deal with everyday. Nearly all of them don’t care whatelese is out there.
All I am saying is cut them some slack.
The Apple education site is a not a user friendly site unless you are registered.
Then it’s ok but in general the like device they carry calculates the discount.
Tip: align your business with the business team at the Apple store. You may be able to work with that person directly and obtain a crayola. If you get a letter from the schools your kids attend it will help.
