No, please don't. If it's as good as you say it is, set what you think is an appropriate one time price, and I'll consider. Paying monthly to use a mouth would be ridiculous.

I would love to pay a subscription for a mouse and a subscription for a keyboard and a subscription for a monitor and a subscription for my desk and a subscription for my chair…and software
Hmmmm. It sounds a lot like renting
In the "good old days" there was a clear delineation between subscriptions and rentals. Subscriptions (such as to a magazine) would get you new stuff (such as monthly issues) as long as you paid, and if you stopped paying then you'd stop getting new stuff. Rentals required you to give things back when you stopped paying.

Companies like Adobe started renting software but called it a "subscription". Regular people followed suit with the terminology, and it looks like the marketing department won that particular battle.

Someone got their Silicon Valley Ketamine infusion, looked at their HP printer with mandatory $1.49 per month ink service and thought “man that’s the best idea on the planet, let’s do it… but for mice!”

Great, I was looking for a way to trash some cash. It was either chuck it down the sewer or possibly this.

And I bet the user agreement will specify service and support not guaranteed, and that Logitech can decide to end the program at any time without notice. Forever lasts forever, until it ends abruptly after 4-6 years.

It comes geofenced to your house so you can't share it with your friends. That'll be an extra $10/mo. for the travel feature.

In perfect alignment with the current popular motto that says, 'You will own nothing and be happy (or is it them?).' And don't be cynical by saying that those who came up with this idea own everything in the world!

I am a big fan of my MX devices, keyboard and mouse. My favorite keyboard and mouse ever, if we’re throwing honest praise…

But I’m not getting a subscription for them. No way, no how. That’s insanity. Not even jump the shark worthy, it’s beyond that point.

What they need is competition that standardizes and open sources mouse software so any mouse manufacturer can just use that software to make a mouse, thus making the mouse cheaper and more compatible over a long period of time. Having one company trying monopolistic tactics is just wrong and they deserve to lose a lot of money over it if they ever try it.

Logitech products are garbage, always ends up double click issue button worn out. I switched to Razer optical button, last forever now.

My $24 Microsoft mouse is on year 5.
When I need a mouse, invariably all the magic mice are dead or have connection problems & can never be used, so I just grab this ancient MS mouse... I bought it in like 1999 and it looks like they're still selling it 25 years later. Like a couple other truly great things from that time, it still just really... whips the llama's ass...

I'm offering a subscription plan to all tech CEOs. For an annual fee I'll allow them to utter the words "subscription service" within my field of attention once per product cycle.
