I was actually trying to figure out if you can fold the keyboard all the way back while attached too. It seems like you can't and just have to detach it.

After using it a bit, the keyboard connection seems very sensitive. If I open the keyboard from cover mode and start to try and type, it doesn't do anything. I have to dicconect and reconnect the keyboard and then it works fine. This is my first Smart Keyboard for the iPad Pro, so I'm not sure if that's just an issue with how the keyboards are? Or if it's just this model keyboard. I've only had it for a day and it's already getting annoying.

Do you think you could use an Apple Smart Cover with the rear protective casing ?

I've owned a lot of different brands of iPad keyboards, and Logitech is usually the best (for me). I'm always hoping for a MacBook-like typing experience with my iPad, and I've still not found one, but I usually keep using my Logitech keyboards when I am working on the iPad. Currently using the ultrathin keyboard cover for my Air 2. Apple's Smart Keyboard seems nice, and I may switch to it when I go for an iPad Pro model. This Slim Combo doesn't look easy to use on a lap.

The smart keyboard is terrible on a lap. Very unstable. The slim combo is sturdier for a lap, but it's yet to be seen how the kickstand works on a lap since I am still waiting for delivery of the new iPad.

Please report back on this if you can. Video would be great. I am wondering specifically how well the Slim Combo can be used in your lap or when sitting indian style (sorry for offensive term).

Wish Logitech had built-in a backlit feature on the 10.5 keyboard. Invaluable when using on a darkened airplane cabin.

+++++++
Never mind...just realized it is a backlit keyboard. Joy for that. Another wish...I use a Belkin keyboard for my iPad Air 2. One feature I use a lot is the ability to go back/forth between 2 devices. Really helpful if I want to type something via my iPhone. However, to do so requires a bluetooth connection, something this keyboard does not use.

Typing on my lap right now with the slim combo, and I can report it is much easier and more stable than the Smart Keyboard. The kickstand works great, or you can use your legs to support it if you are lying down. After reading a bunch of reviews of the Logitech CREATE case, I think they've addressed all the major complaints and problems with that one with this new slim combo. So far so good. Backlit keys are really nice, too.

Oh my. You have me excited. I liked the Create, and happy to hear this may be an overall improvement on it.

I'm sitting Indian style right now and tried the combo. It's a little unstable. The Smart Keyboard Cover is still better for that since it creates a horizontal plane that is decently solid. The keyboard on the slim combo flops around and the kickstand takes up extra space in the rear.

Why do they not create these cases to cover the whole area of the iPad, I want to be able to use this as a functional protective case as well as a keyboard

Leaving cut outs just means I'll be waiting for Zagg to release their offering, I have the Zagg on the older iPad Pro 9.7 and it's fantastic

I just realized it's so that right handed users can rest their palms on the side bezel when using the Apple Pencil. Otherwise the trim is uncomfortable.

I checked at the store and no, you cannot.

Anybody know the weight of just the back cover for the slim combo. I see the total weight for the 12.9 inch version is about 1.5 pounds (doubling the weight of the 12.9 inch iPad Pro). But I am more concerned about how much of that is the keyboard itself. When using the actual keyboard I don't care about the weight. When using the iPad as a tablet then I do care about the weight and if that back cover with kickstand weighs too much then it rules this out.
