With most new home theater equipment we now have HDMI-CEC capability, which can pretty much put an end to the remote hell we experienced in the past. We no longer need a rats nest of wires connecting everything and a bushel basket full of remotes to control that complicate and convoluted mess of a setup. Nor do we really need a programmable remote which is cumbersome to program.

Don't see it.

1. I have seen a number of posts where CEC seems to be problematic.

2. Different devices have different conventions. For example NVidia Shield TVs' "menu" brings up a setup menu where on an AppleTV menu works as a back button. By programming my Harmony to map the Shield activity menu command to back I am able to have some consistency in how it works. Have to do another customization to map a key to go back to the Shield main menu. My oppo player sometimes doesn't set to the right input (out of 7), so I have to add an option to the home screen to correctly set the input. The list is endless as long as manufacturers' remotes have different functions assigned to their remote keys.

Does anyone with a Harmony Hub know how to add the "TV" button on the Harmony remote? It's the only button I can't get to work...Kind of a pain to have to get the Apple remote out to kill apps or switch audio sources etc.

yes, you have to add the apple tv as the following

Manufacture: Harmony Pro
Device: BT Apple TV 4

then go into settings and add bluetooth device

That is the best way to do with so you have the least amount of button delay. However, you can't kill apps because there is no swipe mechanism on the remote.

This is how I set it up but still have no "TV" button. All of the buttons just go back.
