iPhone 11 Pro Lol at people asking about color (disclaimer)

if you go naked this doesn’t apply. For those with cases - why do you even care what color your phone is. It seriously makes zero difference. All fronts are black. I alway have a case and have got space grey every year. Sole reason is I know it will be available. Gold, rose gold, white back in the day, now potentially this new midnight green are always the first out when they introduce a new one. I’m just surprised about how big of a deal the color is when most cover it with a case.

I agree that the days of the white vs black bezel would have weighed more heavily on decision making. But even with the back of the phone being the sole differentiator, there are many who will elect to use a clear case, bumper case, skin, etc. For some, just the color showing through the camera hole is enough. Some will take the case off when home where they feel safe using the phone. So, I guess there’s a fair amount who, despite not going naked, will still have ways to enjoy the color.

I don't get it. Whether you think it matters or not, or you care or not, at the end of the day, you still MUST make a color choice when purchasing your phone, so some sort of factor goes into everyone's decision.

Plus, I don't know about you, but I periodically take my phone out of the case for cleaning or whatever, and most cases still allow some of the device to be seen, let alone clear cases.

You still have to pick a color, so you may as well pick one you like. Makes no sense not to, really, since you're paying the same price either way.

The camera area shows the phone colour. The cases I bought have a pattern on a clear background, so the phone will still be visible.

If availability is the only concern, I think gold is the least popular this year.

You're absolutely right about PAST phones. This year there is the little caveat that the area around the cameras now matches the phone rather than being black. So you will see at least a little bit of the color even with a case.

If I were putting, for example a pink case on my phone... I wouldn't want a gold phone.... I'd want black or green. If I were putting a blue case... I'd want a silver phone. If I were putting a red case... I'd want black or silver.

I'm putting a clear case (unless I change my mind and go with a clear skin). But that's because I think the green is super pretty and "I" want to see it!

Actually this year it matters more than previous years. Every case i've seen has a square cutout for the camera, meaning if you bought midnight green and have a red case, it is gonna look pretty ugly.

My pink dress shirt is one of my favorite ones. I rock it a couple times a month.

And @bizzy045, some solid color cases show the back of the phone. Also, some people don’t keep the case on 100% of the time.

I go naked, but there are legitimate reasons to pick a color you like even if you don’t.

I buy clear cases for my phones, looks better than a coloured case to me. I think the 11s would look best with a case because of the more vibrant colours but my pro max will look good as well. It’s either a clear case or a clear case with transparent design for me.
 
I used to pick girly colours because of my weird dream that is wishing I am a girl. Rose gold was my pick back in iPhone 6s Plus. Now I just pick silver, because my Mac is silver and silver is a very neutral colour.

With the X and XS, it really didn't matter. The point about the camera cutout is correct, though. I ordered my recent favorite, silver, with a saddle brown leather case. Then I had second thoughts about the green and ordered a MG phone and a FG leather case. My goal is to figure out the color question in the store before I open either one of them. I think the MG probably needs to be seen in person before choosing.

The square camera module actually makes a difference this time.

I pre-ordered the green Pro Max and forest green leather case. The pic below is exactly how mines will look. A blue case sure wouldn't look right.

The emphasis on iPhone colours on MacRumors is surprising. I’m more concerned about what the phone does over what the side I won’t be looking at looks like.

Love that color combination. I ordered that pair after ordering a silver/saddle tan. I'll return one or the other unopened after I see them on Friday in the store.
