What are we supposed to be seeing?

LOL what are we meant to be seeing?

Agreed.

I read this thread in stupefaction until a number of posts made clear what they thought the issue under discussion actually was.

Seriously, to my mind, no big deal. Truth to tell, I am more than happy with the theory, concept and reality of EU regulation on such things.

You lot buy expensive phones, to cover them with a case and then complain about markings on the back of the phone that you presumable never look at? Who cares lol

Well yes I do buy expensive pohones and I do buy cases for them but I get clear cases so I can see the colour. So yes I can see those markings. That said yes it would be nice if they weren't there but they don't bother me in the least.

Its not free, you pay for it. How much of your income is taxed and what about that huge VAT in addition to higher prices. No such thing as free.

I was about to comment on this. The argument of 'free healthcare' is laughable.

yes he does. but then again you have to pay for inflated and excessive profit margins in your health care industry. which are regulated away in almost all first world countries... actually all first world countries, other than yours. So in reality, you pay more. A lot more.

regulations have their place.

These markings have been around since day one and now it’s a problem?
I’ve honestly never really even noticed them. I don’t get the big deal.

Americans can't laugh at other countries healthcare lol. UK healthcare is free at the point of use, so when we say 'free healthcare' that's what we mean. Also, some people don't pay tax - low paid, children etc, so technically for them, it is free.

So are we really gonna be upset over some words on the back of a phone which no one ever looks at? Bigger issues amirite?

it's really about denial....or ignorance....for them, as it's actually laughable the backward state that they are in, relative to other first world nations around the world. sad!

It's sad, I feel for them. As if we all don't have enough things to worry about, worrying about going broke because you're sick shouldn't be one of them. The UK system might be flawed and in DIRE need of some funding, but it's there for us.

I'm British and it's really more complicated than you make out. Yes it's free at the point of use. But in many areas our health care isn't the best. When it comes to things like certain cancer treatments for example the US survival rates are quite a bit higher, though the statistics make it hard to compare. Capitalism nearly always provides the best quality - this applies to Rolexes, Rolls Royces and even health care. Of course this is of no use if you are unemployed and I can understand the position most in Britain take on this but really us Brits should be a bit more humble about this. I worked for a year in the US and fell ill while there and was astonished at how pleasant an experience it was dealing with the hospital and doctors there, the modernity, cleanliness and ease of getting appointments etc it was so much better than the UK experience - again I realise that was because my employer had organised top notch health care for me. It's also worth noting that European countries have tended towards more mixed systems with great success.

I take a second to Notice that regulatory icon on the bottom lol.
And I don’t care even a slight bit.
Oh, I don’t use iPhone case.
Envy a clean iPhone, US iPhones.

Average person puts phone in the case, so they won't even see where it says iPhone. Apple logo if feeling risky.

Perhaps you never had to check in to a hospital in an emergency and they asked for your credit card on the way in. For an additional experience of the US system I had back surgery which cost $275,000 and i found myself in the middle between the insurance company and the doctor and hospital because the insurance company refused to pay the full price.

When you live in a ridiculously over-regulated country, these things tend to happen.

Enjoy your lead flavoured water and your chlorine washed chicken.

When you live in a ridiculously under-regulated country, these things tend to happen.

OP LOL Fair point - I got so used to it that I barely notice these things anymore. I don't get why they insist on these visible markings. It would definitely be more tidy without them.Reminds me of cars in the 80s that displayed badges of the technology they had in them; yup mine had ABS Brakes ;)

Really dependent on where you live. I recently had an operation on the NHS and it was a fantastic experience all the way through. The staff were amazing, the hospital spotless and very modern and saved me thousands of pounds as I didn't need to go private.
