Oh hell no!! Going to the store to see if it's true. Honestly I won't buy the phone if that's the case. Is it a big deal? No, but I deserve the same thing as American costumers. I'm not buying for an European design I'm paying for a standard apple design.

I'm British and it's really more complicated than you make out. Yes it's free at the point of use. But in many areas our health care isn't the best. When it comes to things like certain cancer treatments for example the US survival rates are quite a bit higher, though the statistics make it hard to compare. Capitalism nearly always provides the best quality - this applies to Rolexes, Rolls Royces and even health care. Of course this is of no use if you are unemployed and I can understand the position most in Britain take on this but really us Brits should be a bit more humble about this. I worked for a year in the US and fell ill while there and was astonished at how pleasant an experience it was dealing with the hospital and doctors there, the modernity, cleanliness and ease of getting appointments etc it was so much better than the UK experience - again I realise that was because my employer had organised top notch health care for me. It's also worth noting that European countries have tended towards more mixed systems with great success.

1. I get that it's more complicated than that, but here really isn't the place to be debating it.

2. Yes it might be more pleasant to deal with because everything's private and the whole "you get what you pay for" thing stands, but what if you didn't have that health insurance? What if you couldn't afford it? What if what you did had didn't cover you illness?

NHS isn't perfect by any means, but at least it's a safety net for people who can't afford to pay for anything private.

When iPhones are slippery as soap without a case or skin I think that is pretty easy to hide. That said I don't understand why those markings have to be so huge or can't just be something stated on the box or manual.

It's cool I got an iPhone 7 which is the same as an 8. I just wanted the pretty glass back but now I got an excuse to stay with what I got. Stupid European branding.

Who cares about markings who even cares about the colour most of us use a case which hides both of these.

I actually planned on going careless with the 8 and just put a protective film over it so I'm pissed with good reasons lol

My 7 has the same markings on it ;) As will any phone from any other supplier, I seriously don't understand what you mean...That is the way it is and has been within the EU....

But why. I want to pay for the product Apple intent me to have not something that has been tainted with my Europe. It annoys me. Reminds me of whenever I’m going to gamestop and they seal the box with their sticker again my wish and when I try peeling it off there’s glitter on the box forever

It’s a huge deal, the design is super clean without the text. EU version is a worse design, that is clear. Complain to your government, not to Apple.
I think that is part of the problem, you can't with the EU...But you can always move to the UK and be part of Brexit....Yay we can get clean iPhones....

Finally someone who agrees that it IS a problem. "Get over it" - no we won’t.

i hate the EU so much.. and Europe in general. They make us pay too much in taxes, promise us health care but restrict us from everything we are entitled (surgery, medicin, recommendations) to just to make more money off us. Sorry I know I’m ranting..

Like i wouldnt say its a huge deal, but knowing that you dont have the best version available irks me.
That’s what I tried telling people, and they just laugh at me thinking I’m going to "die" from a little piece of text on the back. It’s the fact that I pay more than Americans for the same device but EU comes along and decides to watermark it in the process and it’s no longer the same original phone that Apple designed for their costumers. It’s been tainted. you know?

I looked at the photo and didn't get it. Then I saw the thread started by the person nicely showing off their space grey and the rear of the phone looked very uncluttered and lovely. So, rather than "once seen never unseen" I'm more like "once not seen never want to see".

I will get a case for the iPhone X when it comes out so writing or no writing it won't bother me, dropping it, scratching the screen or sides etc that's what bothers me.
