I have a rMBP and an iPhone 5. Can I fit the retina into my pocket? Nope. Can I watch videos comfortably on the iPhone? Nope. Can I do both with the mini? Yup.

Does the screen bother me? No because I bought it for the size and it still gives me the iOS experience.

I don't think the iPad mini screen is terrible, but I can definitely tell the difference in screen quality with my iPad 3. Guess I am also spoiled. With that said, my mom loves her iPad mini. She doesn't seem to have an issue with the screen at all and she does have an iPhone 4S so she is used to a retina display. Just depends on each person's individual preference.

If he didn't have legs then he couldn't have walked into the Apple store (despite them being tired), thus stopping the story from ever have occurring.

I managed to finish reading these posts even though it made my head sore.

just a case of Haters gonna hate.

today i was so bored that i went to the apple store even though my legs were sore and i had my hands on the ipad mini the first time, first impression was it's so light, and then when i looked at the screen, it was terrible, at home screen i couldn't really tell the difference but when i opened the settings app and saw the text on there, it looked very bad imo (because the text is small, but if that's a retina screen then it would be easier on the eyes)

ipad mini users who have used retina screens devices, what do you think?

My Touch is retina but my iMac, MB Air, and iPad Mini aren't. Back to the store they go. My retina display Touch should suffice.

Or better yet, I'll keep all my devices and when the retina option is made available, I'll buy those too instead of being a cheapskate.

In a world of Retina and (S)AMOLED displays, yes, the mini's is average by comparison:

- Much lower colour gamut (60s vs high 90s for Retina)
- Lower DPI
- Lower contrast ratio

Harsh..

Just bought a mini last week and love it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the screen, glad I didn't let threads like this one put me off:mad:

Nothing wrong with the display, people are just too use to the retina display.

Yup. After using the iPad mini for a few days, I could tell it's not retina, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's still a great device.

I just checked one out in the store for the first time. I noticed the resolution a little bit but maybe I'm used to my 4S screen. Although I have a black MacBook so I'm also used to a lower resolution screen. I'm so torn if I should purchase a mini or not! My black MacBook is showing its age so a new mini will be great for consuming media compared to my iPhone screen. rMini would be nice but if its not due until October that's so far away and I'm starting grad school in the summer.

I've read two books on my mini now and it's been absolutely fine. Now I still like using my big iPad better because the retina display is unquestionably nicer. But I can see how a lot of people would prefer the mini.

Apple spoiled me with Retina. First the iPhone, then the iPad, and then the Macbook. Can't go back. Mini does look blurry, but not for long.

THIS. i know how that feel bro. practically ruined every other display for me out there, EXCEPT the nokia lumia phones, they come in 2nd to apple when it comes to displays on cellphones imo.

super happy with my ipad 3 and soon retina macbook
