I’m going to try in store for the Verizon version since Apple decided to be a little beta b*tch when it comes to the carriers and not offer the unlocked version on release day. If I don’t get one no big loss.

Until you’re reminded that last years iPhone 7 beats out the brand new note 8 in head to head benchmark tests.
I can wait my 7+ is working great, that being said i’ll Be up at 3am hoping to get one on the 3rd

Same here! I ended up dropping my 7+ and I have never dropped a phone ever which is why I didn't have AppleCare. I got a cheap android to tide me over and couldn't stand it anymore. Not bashing Android just my pick in a Stopgap phone.
If I end up liking iPhone X in person then to Craigslist or EBay my 8+ will go.
Benchmark tests do not mean crap. I am unbiased as I use both Apple and Samsung devices. My wife uses the iPhone 7 and I am using the Note 8 and she will agree that my phone is MUCH faster than hers.
I will say though, I would assume the 8+ and X will be faster than my Note 8. I am looking at getting the 8+ since it is same form factor as my Note 8.
I don’t mind the wait once I’ve placed my pre-order. What’s hard is waiting for oct 27ths to roll around so I can place said order.

It's a phone guys.. at the end of the day, it'll do the same thing as the ip8, ip7, s8, note 8.... which is......... check email, instagram, photos, facebook, web, and text/messages.
I need a phone asap since I only got the 16g version of 6plus. I obviously voted for the 'I need it now. Cold turkey!'
i'm scared what the future holds from this generation of folks who can't wait for a new phone? oh boy... I'm beginning to believe the woman is the phone itself for some people.
The wait's good - I'm using it to heavily research cases & screen protectors & when reviews start coming out, I'll watch heaps of them because being a new interface, I want to be sure it's as intuitive as Apple made out before considering to buy it.
The galaxy s8/s8 plus is a great phone. As far as contactless payments go, Samsung is better at it, since Samsung pay works virtually anywhere. But the customer service is horrible. My charging port was loose (never had a loose port on an iPhone), and when I called them for warranty work my only option was to send it to them and be without a phone for 9-11 days. Well due to my job that is completely impossible. That was the point I decided I needed to go back to . Which ultimately there was a bunch of little things about the iPhone that I missed. I feel so much better now!
