To be honest, I've never tried before now. I normally have it propped on a desk or table in front of me. But out of curiosity, I'll give it a try.

My first inclination was that it was going to be too unwieldy. But the Fintie magnets come together in the back to prop the iPP. However, I have the 11 inch; since the 12.9 is slightly heavier, it might be too much for it to handle. The Canopy case also holds the Magic Keyboard and iPP together. At $40, it's a little more expensive than the Fintie, but perhaps it would be steadier. https://www.amazon.com/Canopy-Keybo...t=&hvlocphy=1013173&hvtargid=pla-553883188274

Thanks, appreciate that

Actually, let me change that. I’m on it again right now with the iPP propped up on the Fintie and typing on the Magic Keyboard, all on my lap. It’s much more solid than I first thought; I’ve even got the iPP in vertical stance rather than horizontally. It’s much more stable than I originally thought it might be. (Again, this is the 11, but I tried the 12.9 for about a week and a half; there’s not that much difference, is there?)

I need to try it again to be honest. I spent a couple of weeks using just the 11” with folio and it was pretty stable on my lap. I then bought a 12.9 to replace my laptop and it seems more eager to pitch over on my lap due to the added weight.

Regardless, I’d still buy a Brydge, not because I want to make it in to a laptop, but because when I’m not concerned about portability, I think its a really neat solution.
