Wow! She gave up 30 years of a career at Ford to work for something that doesn't even exist. I think Apple should focus more on expanding the leadership team to work at Apple Car. It seems like it keeps on getting delayed.
I can only assume they are waiting for a vision from Steve to come down from the heavens and show them the way to the brilliant, disruptive, Apple Car. I feel like we might be waiting a loooooong time. There's no Steve to create a functional masterpiece. And there's no Ive to design it with extraordinary form. And with the tragic state of Apple's software quality control, I would be nervous to even step foot in an Apple car, let alone buy one.

GM sold 30 million cars that could shut off while driving for no reason. You don't need to be afraid of an Apple car, there's plenty of poor quality control on the street right now.
 
You DO know of course, FORD represents Fix Or Repair Daily. Anyway that’s what some who really depend on vehicles on farms and mines say.
 
Offtopic here but if she is so good at her old job at ford why did she approve the crappy ford power shift transmissions that the focus and the fiesta Got good cars ruined by a bad transmission

She probably has an excellent pension so leaving is actually not surprising. I did it with the company I used to work for (after 30 years). The remainder of my career was the best years I had.
 
I don't think they'll be a physical Apple car I think it will be something like Apple TV. Probably a complicated AI Met integrates with existing cars like CarPlay that makes them function like an apple user would like them to including subscription services to turn on and turn off features any user could subscribe to them and unsubscribe as needed. This is the current model that Ford is also looking at and already is progressing towards. Oh and another thing the chip shortage is because of things like gobbles the supply chain issues it's basically because the car manufacturers and others decided not to put in their needs for chip supply because of the leadtime that is so long they did it to themselves and creating a false imperative that now allows them to change their business model and maintain their pricing structure by reducing overall costs less marketing and less rebates.
 
Ah, I see we're in the "Apple Car team is expanding" phase of stories, soon to be followed by yet another round of "Apple Car team sees another round of exits amid questions about its future" stories.
 
If Apple ever does this, they really should tightly partner with an existing automaker.

GM and poor quality control is definitely mutually exclusive with each other, and has been for quite some time with a large part of their product line.

Does the Apple headquarters, 1 Infinite Loop contain a 'track" for testing vehicles? Why else make a building with an almost 1 mile loop, and the address 1 Infinite loop?
