Wow. Those photos look completely different from most of the other blue iphone 12's being shared.

I swear the blue looks completely different in every photo and video that I see. Gonna have to just see one in person for myself.
Really wish the non-Pro models had that frosted matte glass look that the 11 Pros (and apparently the 12 Pros) have. The back of my 11 Pro is my favorite thing about that phone!

Does anyone know if Apple PR provides lighting and photography guidelines to reviewers to ensure that these images are graded the same Apple standards by every reviewer?
At first I liked the blue on the 12 first, but after seeing more pics of the Pacific Blue on the 12 Pro/Max, I am liking that blue more and will be preordering that color for the 12 Pro Max on 11/6.

The impression I'm building is that it looks nice in muted light, but not in brighter/more direct.
A shame: Apple's publicity images made this look the nicest colour of the lot (including the Pros). But I'm rapidly forming the impression that if I buy a mini it will be black.
The Pacific blue looks way more premium. The light blue is something I’d expect on a 5c/xr
The picture in the OP just doesn't look like reality. All other pictures and reviewer videos show that the blue is lego/toy looking. A 12 mini in this colour is going to look like a childs toy lol.
I have no idea what to think. The blue colors really do vary depending on what light they are shot in.

I have no idea what a premium color is but the Pro's matte glass back is why it's not shiny like the regular 12. Has nothing to do with whatever a premium color is supposed to be.

A premium color is a color that when you look at it exhudes a premium feel that looks like the money I paid for it.
The 12 literally looks like something that I’d expect from a low end android.

You're "premium" is another persons cheap. Vice versa.
That blue iPhone 12 on looks quite different in the review videos than in Apple’s renderings, which made it seem like a bolder and deeper colour. I agree with the above comment that it looks too much like a plastic blue, which I’m not a fan of at all. Glad I went with the green instead.
Some of us don’t put cases on our phones, so color definitely matters.
Anyone questioning a color maybe should wait to see one in a store. It’s all based on lighting. I currently have the MG 11 Pro Max and in certain lighting and angles it can look Grey. In other lighting it looks totally Green.
