does any1 know if there are issues with "hard" (alumn) cases and airports?

I've been told that you cant get onto a plane with a "hard case"? (security issue)

thoughts on that?

MacBook Pro coming. need case. might go with booq.

My wife will also need a case, she walks a fair distance from the bus station to her office each morning, would a backpack be more ideal for her?

Really cool Mac sleeves

www.flickabags.com sells custom sleeves and you can choose your own fabric.

I got one for my MacBook and I love it. It's fitted, but not too tight, and ultra thin.

www.BaooBaoo.com

www.BaooBaoo.com should definitely be added to the list. Not only do they offer more designs than any other company, they are also reasonably priced and offer customized sizes. I myself have two of their sleeves (the Red Lava Iguana and the Blue Thai Weave).

Being a bit of a gadget geek I always look for something personalized and something different, and BaooBaoo offer just that.

hey guys i guess you guys won't be able to purchase from baoobaoo anymore...
i just got this email:
Dear [...],

your order has now been shipped (as of today, April 10th). We hope that you will enjoy our products! You should receive your order within 4-7 working days.

We are very sorry for taking such a long time with your order. The reason being is that we
regret to inform you that we are now out of business and you were one of our very last customers.
In case you have any problems with the order, we will still be here to answer any of your questions or concerns. Simply just reply to this e-mail.

Kind regards,

Joel Lundgren
General Manager of BaooBaoo

That's sad b/c I liked their sleeves a lot and their prices were very reasonable.
I got the green Thai Weave coming my way...

Incase Case

I got the grey 15.4" nylon plus case made by Incase at my local apple store. I biked up there a few days ago and spent a few hours looking through the available cases (after searching for like 3 hours online using the MacRumors Case/Sleeve Buying Guide) and I love it. It has room for my cell phone, wallet, a book, and my 15.4" MacBook Pro. I would recommend it to anyone.

There's a dealer in Canada with clearance on 12" Sleeves

Their called booq PowerSleeve, the prvious generation. I have aone I used for years with my old machine and they are great, handy and classy. I am quite sure they will ship to you in the USA from http://www.sozodistributing.com. They are called the booq PowerSleeve XS or s90 for a landscape style.

;)

Do you guys know of a bag that fits a Powerbook 12", and is fairly cheap (like under $75). Finding a bag for a 12" is difficult.

*EDIT*
I found one! The Crumper McBain's Lovechild, Small. Looks great. Is it too small to hold the PB 12", AC Adaper, a mouse, maybe a few other cables or something? It doesnt look like it has any pockets, but maybe it has some inside?

Last update 9/11/04.

I had to really laugh after spending 30 minutes reading through this whole WONDERFUL discussion, and WONDERING why my 4+ year old Marware Sportfolio wasn't rated higher here? It's kind of like that Timex watch, my ex is long gone but that (Quartz Seiko) just keeps on ticking. My 5 year old 12" powerbook's LCD screen did NOT survive a flat drop sliding off the kitchen counter (sans Marware, do not stack on top of dishes) fully depreciated anyway, I traded it for what it was worth, and FORGOT to keep my beloved case. (actually it was stolen by the creepoid that couldn't fix it but I got my new 120g hardrive back by stealing it, so not so bad for a weird day in Chicago (DO NO business with MacMyke in WickerPark, Chicago).

A "new" 3 year old 12" G4 made it's ways through the karmafruit -1.5ghz, loaded, and only driven by a high school student (seriously) when he traveled! It came with a sloppy incase, so Yikes! where can I find a decent case in 2008, a world full of fat 15"ers that fit worse on airplanes then they did b4, same for the bloated 13"ers and MacAirWhatWereTheyThinking?

Of course you can't find that particular completely bumpered sleeve/portfolio anymore because they want to sell you up etc etc.

So I go ALL the WAY back to Celeron's VERY usefull First post here and what do I find on the Marware site? A $5 special on the Sportfolio II! $3 shipping!
$8 total! (there are some left...)

THEN I surf for the elusive older BOOG and find (the last new one on the planet not yellowed on ebay) a Booq PowerSleeve12 for $9 (all gone) and $9.95 shipping at MacofAllTrades. And I think WHAT a great country this still is (OK we could re-learn to vote), but still what a great country.

Wonderful Forum! Thanks!

There's also Antenna. If you are sick of those generic styles, then you really should check out Antenna Laptop Sleeves.

I know from recent orders that SOZO Distributing in Canada has some of the older booq products available. You can find them at www.sozodistributing.com.

I use the SLAPPA Ballistix AURA Silver/Orange Laptop Shoulder Bag along with the Ballistix AURA Silver/Orange Laptop Sleeve for I carry my work HP and my personal MacBook Pro. I am able to carry all the cables, power supplies, multiple mice and other gear. Has worked great and looking at purchasing a M.A.S.K. Backpack as well.
