Hi all and happy new year!

I am about to purchase some AirPods Pro 3's and I am looking for a case to go with it. I know there are tons of cases out there, which is why I am looking for recommendations.

I'm looking for a high quality case that offers good protection, as I will take my AirPods everywhere and toss it in different bags, such as my work bag and gym bag. I have also heard that some cases use adhesive on the lid to prevent it from coming off, but this issue can still occur with certain cases. Ideally, I'd like a case that doesn't have this problem at all.

I just recently saw these. Available for preorder. Think I may get one but can't tell and it doesn't say if it will work with wireless charging.

Doesn't ship until mid next month which is too long to wait. Also, it doesn't cover the entire AirPods and it is very expensive.

No it doesn’t but you didn’t specify you needed it immediately. It doesn’t cover the case entirely but does protect it extremely well. It has no adhesive to stick the top portion on which is rare and something that concerned you. And you asked for good quality. Good quality = more $.

I think it’s a very cool case and preordered the blue for myself today. Good luck with your search.

I have ordered the ESR case. It's cheap but the reviews are good!

Airpods already have a case.

You want a case for your case just in case???

Really though what is the purpose? You dont need it. It's not like youre going to resell used earbuds and need to keep the case in good condition?

Do something good with money youre just willing to throw away on nonsense/waste.

i got a simple white silicone case from AliExpress, just to protect it from breaking when the case drops for example. This 3$ case works fine for me.

I see these responses and opinions quite a bit. If someone wants to buy a case for their Airpods case, phone or watch it's their deal, their OCD and their choice. No need for people to chime in on what they need or don't need. We're all adults(I think) and can make our own choices without our parents coming in and telling us what we don't need to spend our money on. I'm sure you've bought a few things in your time I would think was ridiculous but I'm not going express that in a forum you post about it.

ESR all the way, I have my pro2’s in one for over a year without issues and have just got the exact same case for my pro 3’s.. the case has magnets in the lid and base so it stays closed..

I also have ESR cases for both my Airpods Pro 2 and Airpods Pro 3. I had black for the Pro 2. I switched to "dark blue" for the Pro 3, but the so-called "dark blue" case for the Pro3 is really more like a medium blue-gray.

But, for ~$15, you get the knowledge that when you drop the case (am I the only one who does that?) the earbuds won't come flying out.

Ok i will concede, that would be a nice feature. This does happen on Airpod 4 series. I blame Apple this should not happen in the first place!

But $15? How abouut $5? 🙂

Spigen Vault is recommended. The cover has a nice minimalist texture like the Caudabe Sheath, so you avoid greasy fingers, it also protects well. There is a magnet in the lid, so it doesn't pop open and your AirPods fly out if you drop your AirPods case.

Agreed. I used to case my AirPods in the early days of AirPods (2017, 2018) and as the years have gone by and I've gotten new models I've actually stopped using cases and just use the AirPods as is and have added a little lanyard on the newer ones since they have a little loop to make grabbing them and holding them easier. People's needs and feels change as mine did so no reason to harp on those who want to have a case and those who don't.

A case for AirPods has several functions besides keeping the AirPods case free from scratches and scuffs.

The AirPods case can be super smooth. So having a cover with some texture can be quite useful so that the case doesn't slip out of your hand. Some cases also have the function that keeps the lid closed so that your AirPods don't fly out of the AirPods case when you drop them. Last but not least, there are also some who prefer their AirPods case in a color other than white.

Finally, I would also like to say - that it is easy to sell used AirPods. I just sold my AirPods 4 ANC, and used the money to buy AirPods Pro 3. Luckily, I got a good price because my AirPods 4 had been in a case, and were in perfect condition.

...but ok, you can also be blind and indifferent to all of the above, and just play football with your AirPods, and just be present in the moment. "You can just buy some new ones, no problem"
😉

This arrived yesterday!

How do you find them?
Are you asking how I like the case? I like it a lot. I can't imagine having anything else on the airpod case rather than nothing. Looks great while still showing off the actual case. Feels solid and well built. Seems to protect the case all the way around. I really didn't want a cheap rubber shell that covered the whole case.

I see
I heard ESR do great cases for the AirPods and the case offers full protection.

Just ordered some AirPods Pro 3's along with an ESR case, being delivered tomorrow.

I like that the ESR case has a lock to prevent accidental opening, and gives the Apple AirPods case some bulk so I know I've got it in my pocket.

I'm in the hunt for cases myself right now. I've tried the two ESR cases mentioned in this thread and neither one is able to prevent the earbuds from flying out when dropped from waist height onto a hard office floor (carpeted but not soft). My biggest fear is the scenario where I'm trying to fish out my AirPods on an airplane, they fall, and the earbuds go flying God knows how far and now I'm having to bother a dozen people or more to get them back. Has anyone found a case that works in this scenario?

What's ironic is that for my original AirPods Pro I have a Speck case that doesn't really lock, but has a carabiner ring that goes through both the top and bottom portions of the case. That alone was enough to keep the lid from flying open. Sadly it seems like they're getting out of the AirPods case game as they don't have anything for the AirPods Pro 3 or even the AirPods 4.

This one is the bees knees. It doesn’t pop open allowing your AirPods to jump out when you drop it.
