I'm not sure I understand the point of this. Someone that just wants to blog about whatever can set one up at wordpress, typepad, blogger, etc.

They are no less generic than yours. The only justifiable reason why a group of people would post to one blog is because there is a focus - a coming together or interests. So you have fantastic law blogs (blawgs) such as The Volokh Conspiracy (http://volokh.com/), others in politics, literature, technology, science, and so on. Before you continue to offer your blog up to random others, I suggest you think of the direction in which you would like your blog to go.

Never said I was pioneering the world of blogging. Of course anyone can set one up themselves (if I can do it...).

The initial point was for me to become familiar with WordPress, and in the process I'd get my own place to blog a little if I choose. I'd like for others to join me here, rather than myself having to join somewhere else, that's all.

Obviously I don't have much to offer, hence this thread and more specifically, my last post. However, I will offer what I can, and hopefully I'll have more to offer if/when traffic begins to increase.

As far as having a set topic, this is a good idea, except for that it may make it harder to find writers if I limit the subject matter at all.

At the end of the day, I'm just trying to have fun, meet a few people, etc. I'm willing to do whatever I should be doing to get this thing off the ground a little. What exactly do you suggest?

Update: I've got a few registered users and a couple posts up (planning to write a few more myself in the near future).

I've disabled the need to register or login to comment, so I'm hoping for more feedback from the readers of my little blog. :)

If this were a few years earlier I would have thought this was the start to BuzzFeed... Wonder what this blog turned into and what the site was >_>

I agree. Though I do wonder what the url is as I do not believe he ever contacted me. Though my site is still running. :)
