True may consider a 2012 21.5 be less money and in my budget or looking for a used one on cl or something. Jusy the 27 is awesome the screen is amazing. I still have first dibs on the 2011 27 imac I found locally but guy is out of town right now. So gives me time to keep looking and decided wheather to get a new 2012 21.5 or older 2011 27.

You should save a little and get the 2012 late 27" imac the 70% less glare on the screen makes a worlds difference

That 2011 21.5 inch is a rocking deal, unless you need the better video card and screen of the 27.

I just found some more imacs so figured I post them and see. I deleted some cause sold but these ones above are still available. So if its a good deal might go with 2011 model either 21.5 or 27. Or unless spend what I got for new 2012 21.5. Also been watching apple refurb too there one 2012 21.5 upgraded model for like 1200. Also looking at bestbuy open box return too. What should I do?

That refurb Apple has for $1269 isn't a bad deal, but I do not think it is going to be much better than that 2011 21" you posted.

Yes the new one will have a warranty and a larger HDD, more memory and a way better video card.

But I think it comes down to your needs really. Depending on which video card is in the 27" maybe consider that.

True. Also found a 2011 21.5 imac 3.1 i7, 8gb, 500hdd, has applecare got him down to $650

Yeah he wanted 800 then kept working him he needs to sell it.

Nope, I wouldn't; I would do paypal or meet in person. It is only about a two hour drive between you and him right? I'd say, offer to meet him at a Starbucks or similar public place half way between the both of you on a Saturday afternoon and inspect the computer, plugging it in, turning it on, making sure everythign works etc. Then I would pay him cash on the spot for the computer; if he complains offer him $25 for gas, more than fair.

Make it clear if the computer does not match the specs or condition claimed in the ad and in the pics you walk away without paying anything. And bring a friend with you, have your friend hold the money and your friend waits in the car until you wave him in, you take the computer, your friend pays for it once it is in your hands, do not leave the Starbucks until the transaction is done and he has left the area in his car....maybe over the top, but better safe than sorry, you do not want some dude coming and strong arming you, taking your money and the computer, or saying something like, come to the car and see the computer, or pay me and I will go get it, etc.

I feel the same so thats what I told him see what he says.

Too many scammers out there, so better to be careful, could turn out to be a fine deal, but still, could turn out to be a scam. Better to play it safe, over losing your money and or worse.

Well got more pics and sent me the box specs they dont match this is a older imac I knew it to good to be true and says he doesnt have time to meet me.

Well guess from what ive found so far either go with 2011 21.5 imac for 750 has no applecare tho or go with 2011 27 imac for 1050 has applecare till next year. Or may still get a new 2012 21.5 but top of my budget.

i would go with the 2012 imac, try looking at best buy for open boxes. i hear the cooling system is wayyy superior and graphics card has alot more potential.

I agree, if you buy a 09,10,11 you are buying a heater too.

Ok so ill wait and keep a look out for 2012 model then or if anyone know or sees a good deal let me know. Still cant decide on 21.5 ot 27 but if I do 27 then Iill have to wait awhile and save some money?

What's your budget? Great 2011 and 2012 refurbished deals show up on the apple store everyday.

Yeah I been looking all over right now 1200.

There was a ton of nice 2012 returns on the apple site for under $1200. Keep an eye on that store. You can save between $200 and $400 depending on what they have and you get a full warranty.

There few on apple refurb trying to decide what to get either base model or get upgraded. There is a 27 2011 mac but out of my price range at the moment and im sure everyone will agree to get a 2012 model vs a 2011?

Whats my best bang for the money?

I think your best bet would be, to sit tight , sell some things on ebay and save up some more loot and get yourself a shiny brand new late 2012 balls out iMac .
