Where did you get a 660 for $100?

I found it on refurb/clearance at a local Micro Center. I've actually picked up TWO of them for that price, it was actually $125 after tax, but the card came with a $25 rebate. The EVGA one I purchased for myself has since died, but RMA has been great to me. The other was an MSI with a Twin Frozer cooler, which is still working great.

You need to list which MDP port and which OS.

It is an established fact that unflashed cards have issues with MDP ports.

People with 3,1 MP would be better off with Nvidia cards in 10.9

Apple and AMD have shown no interest in making the 7950/70 work in 3,1 properly in 10.9-10.9.2

@MacVidCards

It is dual mini display and it shuts down when I connect to either port. I have put the card in slots 1 and 2 and get the same results. I am running 10.9.2.

If I send the graphics card to you can you flash it?

You should PM me for biz stuff.

As far as disseminating info, people with 3,1 should avoid 7950/70s for use in 10.9.

We have a long thread at Netkas about the embarrassingly crippled performance of these cards in 3,1.

To add insult to injury, running the same card and same OS in a 1,1 will get you a 30-40% performance boost...WITH BOOT SCREENS !!! I'm not exaggerating.

Apple and/or AMD have not just DROPPED THE BALL, they have fumbled a final pass in a tied Super Bowl, they have, oh never mind. Rants get me in trouble.

Until you hear otherwise, don't expect a 7950/70 to be any faster than a 5770 in a 3,1 on 10.9

7970 slow in 3,1??

Damn, that isn't good. Just picked up a couple of 3,1s in exchange for some consulting, and snagged a lot of 7970s on closeout.

Well, over to Netkas to see how bad it is. Bet they can still crack passwords, and World of Warcraft should still be buttery on max settings on a 30". I hope!

Any improvement with 10.9.3 beta?

PowerColor Radeon R7 260X 1GB 128-Bit

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131564

Looking to replace my well-performing but very very hot and power hungry flashed XFX HD4870 1GB.

(a) Will it perform OK in 10.9.3 without being "crippled"?
(b) Will I get a boot screen?
(c) Will it be CI/QE-enabled?

I've gone over all the netkas forums and I can't make heads or tails of how well these new cards work in stock/unflashed mode. THANK YOU!
