I got an email with a link to deposit the Lopez v. Apple settlement check. I can't remember how I asked for it to be sent (check or direct deposit). It looks legit but most good scams do.
Has anyone else received this email and used the link to deposit the check. $40 is not worth getting hacked.

I know about the settlement. I’m just questioning the email as it is perfect for scammers to send out fishing emails right about now to try and scrape banking info.

Looks legit to me.

If it specifically mentions your name in the email then it should be bonafide. Scammers don’t have your actual info so they typically address you using your email like “Dear John940”.

I received the EXACT same email, for $40.10 (and if "not negotiated by May 23"), and I agree, it looks extremely fishy, and I have not clicked on the link. Have you done anything yet or found out anything more?

No I have not clicked it yet. I haven’t found any more info. At some point I’ll email the settlement admin.
Let us know if you find out anything.

Even if this is legit, I super don’t trust this payment provider to properly handle bank account information and not get hacked in the future. Why would they use an ACH payment provider for this? Don’t people understand that ACH information can be used to make withdrawals too?

As an update, I emailed them and they offered to mail me a check instead, which I took them up on.

I originally asked for and just got my physical check this past weekend and it was also for $40.10 and says it's void after 5/23/26 and the letter attached has the same info@LopezVoiceAssistantSettlement.com email included in it, so I think this email you got was real, in case anyone wanted any more verification.

I was hoping the settlement would be for more, but $40 is $40. 😛

I went ahead and clicked on the provided link in the clearpath email, and up pops the same "check" displayed in the email for $40.10. That's as far as I got because it said it was going to ask for my bank account information for a direct deposit - no way I'm providing that yet. Others have claimed the were able to give a Venmo account to deposit it to originally, but I did not go past the first screen. Everyone else is saying they already received their money either by check or a direct deposit already. Hopefully we'll hear back soon from the actual settlement people. I found a discussion on TidBits: https://talk.tidbits.com/t/siri-settlement-notices-look-exactly-like-phishing-scam/32789/8 and people are complaining it looks exactly like a scam, and that the same amount of $40.10, plus the exact same case number on every email is very fishy.

The case number is the settlement case number so it should be be the same for everyone.
I will not give them my banking info.
I emailed them a couple days ago asking for a check instead. I got an automated response saying someone will get back to be in 5-7 business days. Nothing so far.

I did the same. I have no intention of giving them my checking account number. Even if they are legit, I don't want my checking account number saved to an unknown system with unknown security. I'd rather lose the $40.10.

Are the payments from this class action rolling out gradually? I'm pretty sure I selected PayPal (if that was an option?), but haven't heard anything from them since the email with my confirmation code last May.

I got my check last week. Requesting a check eliminates the need to share any banking info with these guys (whoever they are, good or bad).

I received a reply from info info@lopezvoiceassistantsettlement.com:

Thank you for contacting the Lopez Voice Assistant Settlement Administrator.

Payments were sent to eligible Class Members in late January 2026. If you chose to receive a digital check, you received an email from noreply@clearpathpayments.firsthorizon.com with a digital check payable from the Lopez v. Apple Inc. Qualified Settlement Fund. These are legitimate payments from the settlement.

Thank You,

Looks like it's legit. So amazed they sent something that looks like a scam.
