so true.
haptic engine feels like a downgraded chinese interpretation of 3d Touch.
iPhone 11Pro and feels like lagged 3d Touch...no immediate response .
My thoughts exactly.... the downgraded Chinese part.

While haptic Touch doesn’t have all the features of 3D Touch I can live with it as the bigger battery is worth the trade off
Is that actually the trade off there or could both be had?

I get you’re point but after 1 day of using Pro Max from XS Max I’m used to it. Then I see battery life today...haven’t hit 54% yet. 5 pm. Off charger since 6:10 am this morning. Yeah I’m good. I’ll take better battery over 3D Touch module

Late to reply, but I agree. I finally set up my Pro Max yesterday at 1:30 PM at 100% battery, though indexing occurred throughout the day, I did not reach for my charger until around 9 PM. After watching countless videos on Youtube, streaming in HD, which strained the Wifi signal, my Pro Max still had enough juice for a three-hour music playback session until my Airpods starting giving out. I loved 3D touch on my iPhone 7, but I'll take more battery in this case.

It gave us 4-5 more hours of battery life

I care more about battery life than 3D Touch, even though I like 3D Touch. I upgraded to the Pro and the battery life is vastly better than my Qualcomm X. I ended up ending the day yesterday with almost 5 hours of SOT and had 64% remaining. All light usage, of course. But still.

I’ll happily take that over 3D Touch. Plus, the new camera system is AWWWWWESOME. Another worthy upgrade as I have a hobby of photography.

Edit: I adjusted to Haptic Touch within just a matter of minutes. Now that I’m used to it, I don’t miss 3D Touch, nearly at all.

I still don't buy all those extra hours of battery came from omitting 3D Touch alone, especially since the phone is thicker now - I believe both could be had, seems more like a cost cutting measure, and a uniformity issue across all devices...3D touch is far superior in its implementation than Haptic Touch lets be real.

Of course not all of it. But these are tiny batteries and I shouldn't have to explain how volume works.

The problem with 3D is it's no longer 3D touch with iOS 13 and 3rd party apps. Many apps like Slack have removed all of the peek and pop functionality unfortunately.

There is no option other than to just move on, unless you keep your old device and not upgrade to iOS 13.

I’m seeing quite a few third-party applications not being supported by developers anymore. I can think of three apps on my phone that no longer support 3D Touch that are third-party, which is disappointing, but I guess I understand in the same respect, now that 3D Touch obviously is abandoned.

I feel your pain. I was also another 3D Touch user. ive upgraded to the 11 Pro Max and was relieved that most of the shortcuts are still there. They just feel “mushy”. Not as crisp as before. On my XS, 3D Touch was almost like pushing a physical button.

Most and having a jerky type setup is still not 'good enough' ... don't and never settle. Apple will be rethinking this setup next year you can count on that. Garbage implementation like the first 3 iOS 13 releases in 5 days of launch.

You can’t speed up Haptic Touch much because then it ceases to become a “long press”

3D Touch is kind of like Apple Scripts for Mac. Only a few power users knew how to use it. If Apple had killed Apple Scripts no one would have really cared outside of that niche.

A good analogy there ... yet without Apple Scripts many of the UI things the typical user loves in macOS/OSX would not see nor benefit from. ;)

LMAO I have bridge to sell you if you REALLY believe that. $100K and the bridge is yours ;)

the CPU gave you 4hrs of battery life and the machine to metal code did that not removing 3D Touch.

I was also a heavy 3D Touch user. So much so that I used 3D Touch first on my most frequently used apps. Even most non-Apple apps. I was dreading the post 3D Touch era since I first heard rumors the function was going to be killed off.

Yet, I was pleasantly surprised by how well iOS 13 implemented the long touch system. A big improvement over how it worked in iOS 12. Yes I still like 3D Touch better, but the two systems are closer than I thought they’d be. And you now have a system that works across iOS platforms. Fair enough.

It's definitely been a non-issue with me. I've been thrilled with my enhanced battery life and camera on my 11 Pro. Those are way more important to me than 3D Touch ever was. I actually like the light press to bring up an icon's menu.

We’ve given up many things over the years such as Touch ID, LCD, etc
Unfortunately not everybody is happy However after a period of time it all works out

Does anyone find it annoying to rearrange apps? The haptic touch is just garbage. Always make a loud weird click sound whenever its activated.

Oh well.

Unfortunately I didn’t use 3D Touch as often as I could have. I’m a day and a half with the 11 pro max and it works well enough I got used to it. Sure I kind of miss it but it isn’t life-changing enough for me to stop upgrading. IMO

I'm not emotionally ready to let go. I'll continue to play the waiting game.

Think there's something for those of us willing to stand by 3DT.
