I lost my iPhone 5 last night, 6 days after i got it  and on top of that, it was dead. Is there any options since it is within 30 days? I'm guessing 'Find my iPhone' will work once it's turned on?

Check with your credit card company. Many cards come with a free 90-day protection plan against accidental damage, theft, or loss. They also extend your warranty to one year past the manufacturer's warranty.

My CitiBank and AMEX cards come with these features.

EDIT: Next time, don't drink so much. :p

Call the carrier, see if you let them black list it will they let you out of your contract. Worth a shot but highly improbable.

He can buy another phone and continúe the contract. They wont Cancel it just because you loose your phone.

So I guess besides finding it with 'Find my iPhone', I'm out of luck and stuck with that phone's contract for 2 years? This sucks.

If you get a replacement phone, the contract will be active on that one. Or you can just buy a dumb phone and put the contract on it. Eventually someone will charge it up, and the "find my iPhone" will work. Have faith!

Edit: Just found out you found it. LOL

Best believe if I found it I would go and buy a lighting cable and then not turn it on and then sell it. Cuz for one, I know about my find my iPhone and two, your the one who would of lost it and just to teach u a lesson but since we've all made the mistake of losing stuff you get a hall pass this time lol

and how many times does this actually happen?

When I used to go to the bar every week, we cycled through who DD'd. Each week a different person drove and we all shared a single large vehicle. I'd rather give him the benefit of the doubt about not being a complete douche drunk driver.

what's the point of the thread then? He gets completely hammered 6 days after owning his brand new iPhone and he misplaces it? lol

Then doesn't know what to do about it, but then randomly finds it in his car. I doubt the dude had a DD lined up.

A reason why he hasn't replied to the thread either.

First impression doesn't scream responsible......but to each their own.
