Word of wise, you're a college student working in the airport, get yourself a Nokia 3310 and move on. Invest that money elsewhere, you'll thank me.

your first response sounded like an arrogant spoiled rich kid oblivious to hard earnings
of the lower-middle class. pretty much just sounded like an as shole. so pardon my
assumption. i try not to think too hard online and didn't want to empathize with the
first response. i'll try to give people the benefit of the doubt when i think they're
being a jerk.
that job's taken.

i get the sinking feeling that someone is going to try and tie politics into this.

As to get back on track, it sucks that you lost your phone I would be upset myself. Did you manage to get a new one? How much did you pay? I read elsewhere that someone lost their phone and was actually denied a new phone. The reason I cant remember I guess they suspected the person of selling it.

It's just a phone.

People in "The OC" are weird.

:p

You do realize Long Beach is not THE OC, which is Orange County, Long Beach is part of Los Angeles, your sig. says your from Southern California and you don't know that?
He was being facetious in the wake of another person's blatant stupidity. ;)

You're starting to grow on me CocoaPuffs. ;)

IMHO AT&T should allow another phone to be purchased under the subsidized price if there is a police report filled out for the lost/stolen item. You can bet if it is lost someone found it and if it is found and not returned then it is in fact "stolen" in the loose terms. AT&T won't flinch at charging the guy for the data plan for the next 24 months, the least they can do is offer up another phone and perhaps extend his plan from the date he receives the new phone. That'd be worth it to me.

No politics to be had here. Just someone who is clearly angry about something unrelated to this incident.

just got back...

Went to the at&t store on Bellflower and Stearns, just told them I lost it so they cut the service. Had to pay $340.17 for a new white 16gb, the only thing which I thought that was a deal breaker was around to weeks back when I purchased my girlfriends iPhone I added her to my plan making it a family-plan and thus continuing on my 24 month contract which still had 22 months left on it. Yet today when I purchased it because my line was the "primary-line" I needed to sign an additional two-year contract for the two-lines. Extending both of the contracts for 24 months from today's date. I guess AT&T making me sign another 2 year contract just left me with a hollow feeling knowing that they could not just replace it and let me be on my way, they had to reel me in for another 3 months:(

Odd, I've heard of many people replacing iphones without renewing an agreement by paying $499. Not sure that would have been a better option for you anyway. Ah well, water under the bridge. Actually, $340 is a relatively minor financial hit--when you consider how much AIG stockholders lost last week.

You do realize it's just a phone right? I'm sorry you lost it, but it is just a phone.

Now, my question is that if you go to get another one will you have to pay full price?

Yes, it's just a phone, but I for one don't like spending over $300 all willy-nilly.

Once is one thing, but twice is a lot of money.

Sorry about your loss:( If you don't mind telling, how did it get lost?

thanks. well to be honest i am not 100% sure, being a server in the restaurant i am constantly moving around the floor. I am assuming at some point it must of fell out of my pocket, plus it was dead when I lost it so no point in even trying to give it a call and locate it.:(

You only had to pay $340 and had to extend your contract a whole 3 months. I'd say you made off well.

An iPhone is a luxury item, I certainly don't remember having "luxury items" when I was a college student.

My buddy dropped his iPhone and shattered the screen. No discounts/breaks on a replacement for him, they hit him up for $499 for the replacement.

Hopefully you'll be more careful next time.
