The ending was entertaining... pulled on your heartstrings... but lets be honest... what an complete disaster! Literally hundreds of unanswered questions!

Why did the Island need protecting?
Where did the powers of Jacob/Jack come from?
Is this religious or magic or what? What the heck is going on? Polar bears? Smoke monsters? Talking to the dead? Magic numbers? The fact that they ended the show without even answering the most ridiculous of questions is truly sad and pathetic. I can't believe people are trying to defend the way this show ended. What a waste of time. Yes there was some entertainment value there, but I think most are left feeling empty and confused about far more than you imagine.

I'm very disappointed.
Much the same way I felt. The story was very touching in many places, but as usual it made little sense.

Six years of being led on and on and on and on, and this is the ending?

I'll never trust another Abrams/Lindelof/Cuse show with my time again.

Lmao did anyone just see the keyboard commercial for target? HAHAHA!! Also that bud light one is hilarious!! Genious :D

About the ending though.....i still dont know what the hell is going on.....

I loved it. I thought it was a great ending. Jack's father explained everything at the end.

There was a lot of unanswered things, but nothing too important in the long run. Things i thought were important didnt seem so relevant after seeing the finale.

I think this post sums up exactly what the last six years was all about. All these questions and really it's all just a line of chalk in a cave. What's important, dude, are the choices you make and the people you share your life with. What happened, happened. Let go. Move on.

If this were a movie, id be cool with that. But we've been watching this show for 6 years, I believe we deserve more than that.

a variation on "so it was all a dream."

the last shots cinched it for me: they all died in the original plane crash. everything else was a group hallucination before the crash.

Seinfeld ending: brilliant.
Lost ending: copout.

NO. No No No.

Christian plainly said the island and everything that happened was 100% real. The "sideways" flash is after they die and are in what is essentially purgatory, finding each other to "move on" to the afterlife. Christian explained the whole thing at the end.

No. The entire show happened, they all lived and survived. But when they died, they all were moved into purgatory until they all were able to let go.

Jack died at the end of the episode, some people died before he did and others died long after.

i'm not certain that "the dead guy explained it" argument trumps the "it was all a dream argument."

in that they dreamt the dead guy explaining it.

I suppose if you dont want to believe what the show flat out told you then theres really no point in trying to convince you otherwise

So if the "sideways flash" was purgatory, what was the whole time they spent on the island? A dream?

The island was 100% real. The ties they created there is what brought them together after they died in the so-called purgatory in LA.

i certainly understand your argument, i just don't agree, given the last shots. why would the show's writers/producers show the 815 wreckage w/o people? what do you think they were trying to communicate?

@Zim
Maybe they just needed filler shots for the credits. Or perhaps a large part of the pane still exists on the beach after all of this, its not like they broke the whole thing down to make a camp.

If they were all dead then there should have been a bunch of bodies all over the place. I don't know what to make of it but I wouldn't read too much into it.

nothing about the last episode felt accidental to me*, and the wreckage looked "fresh", not picked over. i'm simply saying that my interpretation of those final shots was, "no one survived."

* except the actor who played Hurley missing his mark when he said, "thanks, dude" in response to Ben calling him a great #1. i'm surprised they didn't reshoot that...

oh, and the music they played when Jack, Hurley and Kate were walking up a hill. i think someone's nephew got their big break with that inappropriate score.

actually, now that i thought about it a bit, i think the whole thing was simply Jack's hallucination. assuming that he did die in the spot where he landed in the pilot.

he briefly survived the crash, everyone else was already dead.

and i'm serious about that piece of music sucking.

How bout the ultimate homage to the very beginning, the one deja vu they couldn't factor in the finale. Take for instance, the flash backs of the skeletons in the cave, the writers said they did it to remind the viewers how far they've come, this would be much the same.
