I'm in awe. I'm just in complete awe. I'm shocked the show is over. I didn't breathe for a minute after the credits. Started with Jack and ended with Jack. Phenomenal. I will never see a show like this ever again. I'm glad I watched my favorite show, the best show on television for a long time.

That's what I'm wondering.

Don't think so, each died at their own times, Christian mentions it and Hurley even tells Ben he was a good no. 2. What exactly it all meant tho I'm not quite sure. Brilliant episode tho.

Ok, so there could have been more to this show. With Hurley being the no.1. Sorry to be political... **** YOU ECONOMY FOR MAKING THE BEST SHOW ON EARTH END. **** YOU

Huh? you think that they ended the show because of the economy? They announced the end of the show about two years ago.

They all crashed on the island. Everything that happened after that really happened. LePettis and his group got off the island. Hurley and Ben stayed on the island. And everyone died in their own time (as Nieval says). The sideways flash is the only thing that wasn't real.

Exactly, for lack of a better description, sideways flash was purgatory.

Were the three pictures of wreckage shown during the end credits of flight 815 or 316? I wonder what the significance of those images was. Could mean a couple different things.

Satisfied with the ending. I think I have a good idea of what they were going for, and I can appreciate it.

That island was a test. The light indicated heaven. If jack let that go, the island would sink them into hell. That's what the show was about, their struggle to determine their eternity.

Now I get it! Brilliant.

There are still unanswered questions, though. Like what that light actually is. Who built the structure inside the cave? What did that stone do? Why wasn't Michael and Walt in this episode?

That doesn't make sence to me.

Sideways world is effectively purgatory that they created in their mind so they could meet up after they died. They core group who has strong ties to each other all meet up there before moving on to the afterlife. This is how Hurly and Ben knew about running the island together and why Hurley complimented Ben's help.

Christian said there is no "now" in the "new" LA because they were all dead. They all can die at separate time, but then meet up in the so-called purgatory/LA at the same time because they are dead and time doesnt really matter there.

It was 815.

I felt that it was a great ending to a great show. Very strong and very moving. Although the ambiguity of it is sorta complex, it is really well done.

Agreed, as I think I saw the Oceanic logo in the second picture. I wonder what the significance of showing these images is. I have a really strong feeling that they were trying to send us a little message. Why show three seemingly random images of 815 wreckage as the last images of the entire series?

Yeah, I loved the ending. Jack died on the same spot where he landed after the plane crash. He even waked pass a shoe that was tangled in the bamboo that was shown in the first episode.

I'm not even going to bother commenting tonight until I can digest it all.

I started the show about an hour late and caught up on the DVR at about 11:40. I didn't suffer the commercial dread.

I did like the target tie in, especially the smoke detector :)

I guess there won't be a Lost Movie or a spinoff series.

This ending was a little like the Sopranos, they left it open to interpretation.

In retrospect, I'm not sure ending it any other way would have made it better.

My current thoughts were all the folks they left out (Michael & Walt), while they brought back Libby, Boone and his sister.

I'm headed to bed to let it sink in, see you in the AM along with the west coast comments!

1. Target's ad teams were pure geniuses for this run of ads.

2. I'm just going to write it off as a contract clash or some kind of schedule conflict instead of thinking about it too much. Maybe its because Walt and Mike were really attached to the rest of the gang so they didnt feel the need to meet up with the after they died. Mike did, after all, sell out Jack and company in order to get the boat off the island.

With LOST we see a lot of time travel and as fans we talk about these alternate time lines and such. But there is only one time line. The life we lead and the choices we make shape the one and only life that we experience. The sideways flash simply a 'reality' that these people, who in life had known each other, now dead, created so that they could once again connect with each other and let go. (as Christian said to Jack) That is why in the sideways flash everything and everyone seemed to just fall into place (just like happens in a dream).
Honestly, the exact point the writers were trying to make - I don't know. I personally think that in true LOST fashion they shrouded the ending in ambiguity so they people could have their own interpretation.

IMHO - Best Show Ever. It's all downhill from here. :(:(

The ending was entertaining... pulled on your heartstrings... but lets be honest... what an complete disaster! Literally hundreds of unanswered questions!

Why did the Island need protecting?
Where did the powers of Jacob/Jack come from?
Is this religious or magic or what? What the heck is going on? Polar bears? Smoke monsters? Talking to the dead? Magic numbers? The fact that they ended the show without even answering the most ridiculous of questions is truly sad and pathetic. I can't believe people are trying to defend the way this show ended. What a waste of time. Yes there was some entertainment value there, but I think most are left feeling empty and confused about far more than you imagine.

I'm very disappointed.
