The problem is with forums that it's very rare people will flock to them to share praise. Generally they're used by people passionate about a product or people who have had issues and want to vent, moan or resolve an issue. Unfortunately praise threads serve no real purpose but I'm sure the amount of people who are happy outweighs those with problems.
I agree. But I was referring to complaints this year versus last. I am going purely by memory, but I just don't feel there are as many people complaining about issues this year. Issues in a mass produced item owned by enthusiasts are bound to pop up, of course.

Apple sells more devices every year than each year prior.

People typically don't say anything unless something goes wrong.

Even if the same percentage of devices are bad, more complaints will get posted this year than last.

Contact apple, having this many problems with a brand new phone is unheard of
I intend to do that tomorrow. I wanted to give it another day or two to make sure it was a reoccurring issue. Today, all of the problems persisted. So tomorrow I will talk to Apple and probably just get a replacement. Other than these issues, I'm really liking the phone. I got on my 4 and it was insane going back to the tiny keyboard and display. I always thought an iPhone mini would be pretty cool. Well, thanks to relativity, I have one.

Yes they are, but they're temperamental children if that helps...
No, its just that if children assembled my device, I can start having MY children figure out how to fix them when they break. This is good news.

Of course.

With that said, while I wouldn't say things have gotten pretty bad (and I'm basing this more on other people's experiences than my own), it does seem like there are quality control issues to address. Yes, people are picky (myself included), but as far as I'm concerned that's exactly the way it should be.

I don't know how many times over the past few weeks I've read people say they don't know if they want to return their phone because they're afraid the next one might have an issue that's worse than the one they're currently dealing with. I don't know if it's rational to think an exchange would be such a gamble. But to me, that's a sign that there's a problem on Apple's end, too.

I've noticed the issues my new 6s plus is having and don't know if I want to return it because it's my only phone. The screen is unresponsive to touch at times and so is the double press on the button. Sometimes the screen doesn't rotate like it should and then only half of the page I'm on shows. Not sure if it's software or hardware related so I'm going to try a restore for now.

Apple is nothing more that a huge corporation. The belief that their products are somehow so much better than their competition, is gone. They are not any better.

Well now that would really depend on each individuals experience. If you mean looking at specs that other phones are on par, sure. However, none of these other companies have managed to provide the same level of user experience because of Apple's ability to design software and hardware that work together so well.

I've done the Android thing the last 3 years and while I learned to live with it, it has NEVER been the same smooth user experience for me. Now you can argue that there are things the Android phones di that iPhones don't, but sometimes that is what causes the poor user experiences.

People need to just buy what works for them and not get into on this one is better than that one nonsense. It all boils down to each persons needs and ultimately their experiences.

I do agree that Apple is a huge corporation; but by their very nature they do seem to do a better job trying to make the user experience better by taking care of all the little details that are often missing or poorly implemented on an Android phones. However, if customization and being able to change default apps is what is most important to you, then Android has to be your choice.

13 million phones over launch weekend and 20 people post they might want to return their phones point to a problem? Nothing new to any iPhone release or iOS release. Rinse, wash, repeat.
