Looks like Team New Zealand has the upper hand in the LVC finale now.

With the delta growing bigger and bigger the Italians need a smaller miracle to win that one.

yeah. i think they are done.
i was hoping in tight 9 races series, but a sweep seems more likely at this point.
hopefully the finals will be closer.
 
Rather surprised how TNZ has got throught so far without a loss.

Perhaps 5-0 tonight?

kind of disappointing though, i would have hoped for a more entertaining series.

hopefully the finals will go to the 9th. 🙂
 
Bring on Alinghi

It looks like the change to the main sail after the second race did the trick.
The last race was close though.

I hope it will be a closer AC compared to the last one.


I move to New Zealand today... 😀

That's because it's not named for our country - the prize (cup) is named for the first boat to win it, which was christened "America."

Looks like there might be a real challenge in the America's Cup this year. Team NZ looks like they might actually have a chance against Alinghi.
 
Well the America's Cup has begun, after two races its 1-1.

Alinghi may have a slight edge over New Zealand having watched the races.
 
Decided to stay up and watch tonights race live, apparently under 10kts in Valencia at the moment, which could give NZ an advatage.

Going to need a bit of sugar to keep me awake.

Well, we (team USA) still haven't gotten it back in almost 20 years! Perhaps we should rename the cup.

No.no.no! I meant that we should perhaps change the name to something like the "New Zealand Cup" instead of the "America's Cup" since NZ has kept the bloody thing for almost two decades now!

Well we don't have it at the moment.

Last nights race was absolutely awesome, glad I waited didn't go to bed even though it was delayed by about 2 hours. NZ Winning by 25 seconds to now lead 2-1.

If I recall, the lead changed something like 5 times across the race.
 
All, just saw that this was up here and would let all know that I am in Valencia, Spain for the summer and the port area is nice. I don't know how well it compares to other cities to have hosted the event, but I know that it is very different than what it looked like even a year ago.

While I'm at it, I'm not much of a sailing fan. So I don't have a clue who looks good or anything. I guess we'll see.
