I had one in my hand tonight.....I just couldn't justify the $70. I am going to try to find a similar back to go with my red smart cover.

Got one free from Apple for my iPad Air for shipping issues, but I would of been glad to fork out the $80 for one. They're absolutely gorgeous.

Why do all the promotional pictures show the hinge protruding from the side like that?
Is that how it looks in real life?
I haven't seen any other case where the hinge is so glaringly obvious.
Does the hinge soften with use and become more form fitting or will it always stick out like that?

I'm not so crazy about mine. The back I like. Fits very well, and feels nice in your hand. It's the cover I don't like so much. Feels cheap and thin, and doesn't even sit flush with the screen when closed.

It's been like that since I got it, and I have not done anything out of the ordinary to exacerbate it. Maybe it's a defect with mine in particular, I don't know. I'm also not crazy about the look of the brown leather. I thought it would look much more natural than it does. As it is, it just looks orange. Maybe it'll look better with age, but I'm not that patient. I feel like an $80 case ought to be perfect in every aspect, and I'm just not that happy with it. So I'll be returning it and going with something else.

The side crease flap is the culprit. Since this is leather, the more use you put to it, the more pliable the flap will be, and will sit flush over time.

So basically you just need to "wear" it in so to speak.
