I really hope not!

Well, they didn't include it in the Air, which they could have and they have done nothing to develop it or improve it. Nada, zip. So I tend to think since they have done nothing to further the touch bar or expand it to other models, they will let it fade away.

Again, we shall see :)

Don't love it, don't hate it. I could definitely live without it.

You're also forgetting that the Air is the "Budget" model. OLED is a premium option for Apple products. There would be no reason to include it on the Air.

There would be if they wanted to expand distribution and try to make it more worthwhile for developers to develop for it. But as it stands now, it has limited use and only Better Touch does anything to try to make it less so.

I like the little fingerprint reader, that's a time saver. The rest of it is neither exciting or annoying to me and adjusting sound volume and screen brightness actually takes an extra "touch," which seems contrary to progress. For most everything else It's just another way to do the same stuff, mostly.

Just tap and slide to adjust brightness and sound. No need to pickup your finger and do more than one touch.

Do people realize that if you go to Keyboard in the System Preferences you can setup the Touch Bar to mimic the older function keys. It works great and better in a darker room because the Function keys give off more light and look cool in contrast to the keyboard. If you look at this way, nothing has really changed, I do not see all the fuss with the Touch Bar.

You can setup and master the Touch Bar in about five minutes, this in not a life changing event, it is just a simple little add on. Getting something like an electric vehicle is a life changing event, the Touch Bar, not so much.

I heard so much complaining about the Touch Bar that I wanted to hate it. Personally, I think that the Touch ID is nice for paying online, permissions etc and sort of enjoy being able to use the bar for things from time to time. I'd like to see haptic feedback, but it's not a big deal to me. I was really torn over doing the non TB '17 MacBook Pro vs. base model '18 but am happy (so far) that I chose the latter. It's a row of keys vs. a row of electronic, customizable keys. I don't see the downside.

I didn't find a more neutral thread about the Touch Bar, and because I don't want to start a new thread by myself, I will ask here, knowing that people from this thread love the Touch Bar. I don't like it, but due to the better performance and cooling system of the Touch Bar 13" models, I'm open to try it and eventually (2019) purchasing a Pro with TB if Apple abandons the no Touch Bar model. But I wanted to keep this clear, I don't quite like the Touch Bar.

My main question is: Have you make the Touch Bar work with YouTube? I've tried several times to use the TB to go to certain point on the reproduction on YouTube and it keeps freezing the video. If the Touch Bar had that functionality and some others (on Spotify or Netflix for instance) maybe it would be easier to adopt the TB, but currently I don't see the point and the things I do the most, like pausing, volume up, volume down, or adjusting the brightness, I do them better with actual keys. And yes, I've tried keeping the finger on the bar to adjust the brightness with only one gesture. But still, I prefer the physical keys.
