Acctually the apple silicone is not like a typical silicone case. It looks like it has a plastic skeleton coated with thin silicone and lined with felt. I was skeptical too but it's very nice and good quality. I traded my brown leather for the red.
The leather cases are uncoated so they look horrible after two weeks.
