Similar look, but the LTDTools case actually protects the glass somewhat and it's a lot less bulky.

I knew I wanted a metal case that's diff. & unique
Actually , I was thinking about ltd case untill karaskustome case popped up.
I didn't Like the front cover of the ltd at all...it looks kinda weird & in the way.

I was thinking getting the ltd case and remove the front cover itself. ...
Therefore the this karaskustom case is exactly what I was looking for!

But it's stainless steel. Do you stick it in another case - Russian doll style - to stop it scratching?

On the positive side, I suppose nobody's going to steal it :)

Email the designer and ask -- I bet he'll remove the cover for a custom order.

There is cushioning material on the inside. That and the delrin are the only things touching the phone.

I sent an email a week ago... No answer still ...

He is going to sell a version without the cover starting Oct 20 for $75 shipped. That is not a bad looking case without the cover!

I might buy one, but I would strongly prefer a full plate on the back instead of the 'X'. He wrote on his site that he went for the 'X' for weight reasons, but if he exchanged the cover for the full back plate, the weight should remain the same. I sent him an email about it.

It's like the Quasimodo of iPhone cases! I wonder if its nicknamed "The Mother-In-Law" in recognition of the steel trap and all. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to "Dislike".

I like the concept. I prefer the nonlid version. I own a Kara case.

The problem I have is the finish. The brush texture is rough and nondirectional. I would prefer brushed in one direction parallel to the long axis, a more refined finish. I suppose that would be less designer like.
