I'm on Virgin and it's toggled On. Getting 16-19mbps downloads which is amazing in rural Bedfordshire.

that's not down to LTE being on as virgin don't have LTE yet... placebo effect that.... could just be virgin is running HSPA+:confused:

Virgin is just a T-Mobile MVNO, so has no cell sites of its own, so in all likelihood Lyn2012 is just experiencing an updated T-Mobile (EE) HSPA+ cell site.

I would doubt Virgin users will get LTE for many years.

it's through EE but looks like they may try to latch on to EE's 4G this year http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2012/09/virgin-media-planning-its-own-4g-service-using-ees-network/

It would be surprising if EE will allow that (and I somehow doubt EE will want to dilute their 4G launch by sharing it with anyone else).

I suppose anything is possible, if virgin throw enough money over, but it would be unexpected.

EE even put clauses in the sale of LTE bandwidth to 3UK preventing them competing for 12 months.
