Now you can watch "HQ" videos through the web browser by using YouTube's mobile site, m.youtube.com.

Looks nice; responsive and great "HQ" quality video even over 3G.

Before iOS 4 was announced, i thought they would atleast update the Youtube App since the 5* Rating system is dead

But i guess not

Thanks I replaced the default app with a shortcut to this...looks much better!

no landscape mode though????

haha nvm i had the lock button on

On the iP4 I had to rotate the phone to landscape and then re-start the browser before I could get landscape to work all the time, not sure what's up with that.

This is brilliant! Why did apple not incorporate the features on this YouTube on the app installed on the iPhone? It loads so much quicker, the search function is way better and you can select the video in Hq or not!

Thankyou so much for posting this I was unaware of this web version and you can even add the icon to the home screen!

It just launched today lol, most people don't know about it yet.

I thought the layout was seriously bad, as with all things Google, with lots of tiny, tiny text. When I went to watch a video it loaded up a radio app. More trash basically from a company that pretty much sucks other than it's search engine.

Edit- Was using Atomic Web Browser that kept loading Wunder radio when I tried to watch a video. On Safari it looked a whole better and worked properly.

Loading times are excellent, much quicker to load than the native iPhone app, that makes this app the one to use .

Thank you, this is awesome since my YouTube app is so slow over wifi but now this is very fast like it should be. Also I replaced the app with this and it looks good on 3G with the HQ selected also.

agreed, the quality over 3G is niiiice.

hopefully apple will update the quality on the default app or something later on.

Ok so do you think they have designated servers for this site?

Maybe I shouldn't blab about this to everyone yet lol!

Don't want the loading speeds going down :D

So much for 3g unrestrictor lol O wait I forgot about facetime ... I really like what youtube has done, could this also be a sign of youtube and apple splitting up? A removable youtube icon in the future....

Let's hope not because this Is like a breath of fresh air from the YouTube app installed on the iphone4.

I recently bought an av cable from eBay it's not an apple and yes it works on the iPhone4 ios4 without any problems.

I was frustrated with the YouTube app as it loads slow even on wifi with 10mb internet connection.

I can't praise this m.YouTube site enough.

I just wish it showed more of the recent videos from my subscriptions without having to navigate to each individual subscription.

I brought this up on my iPad (wifi only) and noticed there's no "HQ" button for HD videos on my iPad, but it looks like HD video is being sent regardless.

This is a great demo app for both the iPhone 4 and the iPad. It really shows off the retina display if you get some good looking HD video playing.

...and it's 100% Flash free for a bonus!

:)

It doesn't play HD video over 3G on iPhone 4. HQ over 3G is the same quality as Wi-Fi YouTube videos on the previous iPhones (360p).

I think 720p video is played over Wi-Fi only in the YouTube app on the iPhone 4, though. So m.youtube.com is most useful for a 3G connection that can play higher quality video files than the app allows without a problem.
