My only doubt on that is the upcoming chips that whilst more powerful will likely see Ram on the motherboard and a dGPU rather than the current unified approach
I really doubt. It’s very easy to add memory banks on a SoC. And I even think that for the highest end variant Apple will eventually opt for HBM2 memory instead of LPDDR4X.

To let you know , I just swap using chrome arm version to use the safari browser , And I'm saving around 1 GB of Swap file under the same load.

16GB for me did the trick. 8 was just not enough for all the Windows program I am using on mac.

I had the picture with CPU load and Ram Usage.

At this cpu load , I cannot have less than 16 GB.

How to do you run Windows programs on M1 Mac?

I look on youtube and find the way to install Windows on ARM with parralle technical preview , its a free version not release yet. I use CrossOver too, it emulate windows program on mac.

Thanks both of you for your answers.

Does that mean, that you can run most x86/64 Windows applications on the M1 Macs with these version of Parallels and CrossOver?

Because Windows for ARM doesn't have many applications.

For me , it all work with no crashing and about 80% better performance than my old 8750H laptop. I use a lot of X85

It all works for me , I run Trade Ideas + sierra charts with tons of open charts and It run perfectly. What I am missing now is more CPU power.

This machine is about 80 % more robust than my old 8750H laptop that i Had before.

I am now preparing the money for a 32GB ram and 12+ high Power Core machine , just deciding if Ill go for the MacPro or the MacBookPro, or maybe a super powerfull upgrade on the MacMini ( this one can be awesome too )

And, again, this is the big question that nobody is able to answer and certainly, Apple doesn't seem to want to answer.

Rene Richie of iMore told me this morning, "If you need more than 16GB, especially at the file level, you'll still need more."

That was followed up by this response from one of his readers:

"To be fair, reviewers have been saying 8GB now acts almost like 16GB because of unified memory/system on chip. Something to consider!"

So who do you believe?!
The speed tests on an 8GB mini are way impressive. The unified memory is unified with the SSD card and that is someing to look at. If the SSD is used as a form of secondary memory, while it does work, it would effectively shorten the useful life of the entire machine as neither the RAM not the SSD are user replaceable. SSD has a finite number of reads and writes in its lifetime. My choice would be to max out the system with both RAM (16GB) and as well, a high GB SSD card when I made a purchase.

What worries me is the thought of "regular people" reading these worrisome threads and concluding that M1 Macs are unreliable and prone to early failure. They're not. Maybe they can't afford the most expensive 16GB/2TB M1 Mac Mini everybody recommends; they can only afford an 8GB / 256GB model -- so they buy a Dell instead because Dell geeks aren't screaming apocalyptic about base-model Dell's being prone to early failure like we are. Let's all read this out loud in unison: M1 MACS ARE GREAT COMPUTERS AT ALL PRICE POINTS. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM. YOU WILL NEVER REGRET BUYING ONE. THEY WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY FOR YEARS & YEARS.

There, I feel a lot better now.
