I am thinking about a Mac Mini M1, to connect to my Samsung C49.Today my M1 Mini arrived. I unplugged my 2018 Mini and plugged the same cables into the M1. It took me over an hour just to get any picture at all!
I have a Samsung 49” ultrawide.
To fix the issue I set the DisplayPort settings on the monitor to V1.2 and changed the refresh rate to 60. Now I get 5220x1440 on a M1 Mini with 1 DisplayPort cable.
I’ve tried by C to HDMI cable and it doesn’t work at all nor does HDMI to HDMI.I am thinking about a Mac Mini M1, to connect to my Samsung C49.
But, my connection would be HDMI, since my Display Port will remain connected to my Windows computer (Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060).
Curious, have you tried via HDMI, and if so, any issues? Thanks
To confirm, USB-C to HDMI and HDMI to HDMI neither worked?I’ve tried by C to HDMI cable and it doesn’t work at all nor does HDMI to HDMI.
On my M no. On my 2018 Mini yes.To confirm, USB-C to HDMI and HDMI to HDMI neither worked?
I feel your pain and unfortunately, all the reporting to Apple does bugger all, even if you spend days on line/phone with a live human. You get all the cuddly huggy responses and nothing ever happens.I'm sitting here crying at my desk.
I'm so ****ing tired of this.
Had display problems for 3 years with my old MBP 2017. Every day at work I would be fiddling for well over 30 minutes, to my bosses dismay, and half of the days I'd just sit there with one display, while the other 27" just sat dark for me to glance longingly at as space became scarce.
So, I sent for the M1 six weeks ago. I waited, and waited, and finally it arrived day before last. It's the first time since 2008 that I've fallen in love with a computer, I honestly love this thing. The sound, the keyboard! I didn't dare plug her into my two displays for this reason... I just ****ing knew it would be more of the same **** as the last three years. Alas, I was right, and therefor I cry.
It allows me one or the other — either the subpar coloured 34" Acer, or the limited spaced, but beautiful, 27" Dell. The first is HDMI to Usb-c, the other Usb-c to Usb-c with charging.
However I try, it will not allow me both.
I'm so goddamn tired. Tired of spending thousand upon thousand on tech that eats my time with mundane plugging and unplugging, tired of adapters that break down every three months... Tired of being tied to a system I love and do not want to leave.

Kind of confused why you posted that video. The only M1 that supports 2 external monitors is the mini. The Air and Pro only support 1 external display.
I have the same monitor and issue. Can you tell me how you changed the refresh rate? Mine seems to default to 120 and I can't get 5220 resolution.Today my M1 Mini arrived. I unplugged my 2018 Mini and plugged the same cables into the M1. It took me over an hour just to get any picture at all!

Won’t make any difference.i'm using my 1080p monitor with my m1 mac mini via the hdmi port, but it looks a bit blurry, should I buy a type c to HDMI?
