not even stores in the west coast are stocked up when i typed in several different locations, probably it's true that 5am pst so 8am est is the time for drop. but it does suck that i wasn't able to get any sleep just like you.
 
Was just able to put in an order for a 12.9 256GB for pick up today at Apple Store in North Jersey. Went live at 7:30am ET

Got in for a 1TB 12.9 in Louisville for today! I had issues on order day so I settled for a 256. Now I don’t even have to open the package and can send that one back! They sold out at this store within 5 minutes from what I can tell (of the 1TB and 2TB models)
 
It does look like more stores are coming online. However, my configuration isn’t out there yet. Definitely don’t need to go to 2TB. Hoping for the best.
 
Just got my order placed in the East Central Indiana area. Went live at about 7:25. I changed my order from a 128 to a 256 Silver 12.9”. My original preorder was not going to ship until June 2-9. Is it safe to cancel that now or should I wait until I pick it up today at 5?
 
Store inventory just went live on the West Coast. Just reserved my iPad Pro in LA/CA for this afternoon.

If you get the ready for pick up, you can just cancel your original pre-order. Or if you want to play it safe, just cancel it after you pick one up.

Was able to get one for pickup in the Bay Area as well. Going to trade my old one in and I would rather trade it in the store
 
Scheduled 11” space gray cellular 256G at 9:15 but won’t be able to set it up until Sunday or Monday.

I called it on the pre-order thread, that Apple wasn’t about to deprive their Apple Stores of inventory for two months. So, when they were pushing back ship dates for pre-orders, it was because they were running out of “pre-order stock”, not all stock.

I, too, just placed my today-pickup order - changed from the 2TB I had on order with CDW to 1TB model. I’m really interested in the 16GB and can live with less storage since I’m not doing any content creation activities that require anything,

UPDATE: All stores in Detroit went live with stock at 8 am. I now have an 11 am appointment to pick up my iPad 12.9 256GB and I’m getting $455 for my 2018 iPad Pro 11. Pretty good deal overall. Now to cancel Best Buy and return the pre-order when it comes (at some point) since I can’t cancel it now. 😀

Ah…Apple iDays…gotta love em!

Was also able to get a pickup for today, I always seem to get unlucky with pre-orders though am usually able to get it on launch day for pickup in-store.

There is availability in Halifax Canada store now. 9:15 am Atlantic. I was able to order a 12.9” for pickup today.

Order was marked as ready for pickup, so I cancelled my pre-order from April 30th. Which status hadn’t moved since I placed the order. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for everyone on the thread for the information.
