Apple's M1 iPad Pro is available with either 8GB RAM or 16GB RAM, the most memory that's ever been made available in an iPad model.

iPad Pro models with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage will come with 8GB RAM, while iPad Pro models with 1TB or 2TB of storage will feature 16GB RAM.

It does not appear that there will be a way to customize lower storage iPad Pro models with the upgraded RAM, so those who want the 16GB RAM option will need to opt for higher storage tiers. Both the 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models are available with up to 2TB storage.

The iPad Pro will be available for order on April 30, but orders will not ship out until late May.

That much RAM for what? Did ANYONE have an issue with 6gb before? Even with multiple windows?

It's STILL iPad OS, nothing there is different. They would have to make the OS far different to justify buying a more expensive iPad for an overkill M1 and mini-LED.

Awesome, not complete my dream, when no keyboard/mouse/trackpad attached/connected it's iOS, when I have both a keyboard and pointing device, it gives me a real OS (MacOS). I love my iPad Pro 12 pro and it's been my main device for a year, but working in Managed IT, there are still things I need a real OS for sometimes and I lug around my 15" MBP. The hardware is there, give me the software ability, please, or at least a real file system, and dual screen support.

Quite honestly what I was thinking. 6GB solved a lot of problems for me 8GB should future proof quite well, I have no idea who needs 16gb in an iPad.

One has to be a true idiot to buy this over a Macbook Air. I am sorry but those prices are complete madness especially with the 1TB/16GB option. It's an iPad!

There is the issue, you can now get a Macbook Air for less running full Mac OS with a keyboard. That still runs iOS apps now too.

I get no touchscreen but a far better rice value. You can get a REALLY nice laptop with touch these days for the same cost as $1100 (or more) plus needing to buy a keyboard).

This pricing is really making the bigger Pro a niche device to creatives and that's about it.
