So I'm guessing that you have a USB-C cable connected in your Mini leading to an HDMI connector in your display. Is this correct?
No, I said DP to HDMI.So I'm guessing that you have a USB-C cable connected in your Mini leading to an HDMI connector in your display. Is this correct?

Hey, word to the wise… lose the attitude. People are trying to help you. The Mac mini doesn’t have a DP port so as @Fravin asked, what is plugged into it?

Mac mini has HDMI port and therefore I said DP to HDMI. I dont see the problem about mentioning DP to HDMI which I was very clear about it. Do I have to mention a same thing every single time since you are the one who is not understanding it?
Doesn't matter. I have several cables to use and it keep crashing and then restart the computer. As I mentioned before, it didnt happen when I didnt download any 3rd party apps. I'm not being denial, I'm telling facts after I experienced this for more than 5 months. Imagine when your Mac keep crashing every single day without any reasons. So you are NOT going DP *TO* HDMI as you stated. You are going the OTHER direction… HDMI *TO* DP. Big difference. Those cables are meant for a DP source TO HDMI display. Not the other way around. Read the fine print. The details matter.
This is likely your problem. Again, quit the smart remarks.
Okay, that sucks. But your DP to HDMI statement was incorrect and you were getting defensive when people were trying to clarify. And the signal direction DOES matter. That was my point. Good luck to you.Doesn't matter. I have several cables to use and it keep crashing and then restart the computer. As I mentioned before, it didnt happen when I didnt download any 3rd party apps. I have USB-C to USB-C for a graphic tablet but same thing.Have you used different types of cables though? Like not hdmi to dp.
Doesn't matter.
Several users have the exact same problem when using M1 MacMini's HDMI output. In the early days of Big Sur it wasn't an issue, but while M1 Macs became available to users, some of them started to report crashes immediately after Magenta or Green Screen.
Now we know that the problem are related to HDMI output on MacMini. I didn't understood how you were using your display. Now I can state that your cable is corrupting the signal and causing the MacMini to crash.
Several users reported that after a cable replacement the MacMini became solid rock. So do yourself a favor and buy one of these USB-C -> Displayport And connect it in the MacMini's Thunderbolt port. And forget the Mini's HDMI port.
Here is one, for instance:Cable
Any recommendations for HDMI solution for those without DP? I've avoided connecting anything externally to my MBA M1 but eyeing buying this to try on new display.

For anyone else that has reached this post, just to be clear, don't trust the M1 MacMini HDMI port, use the USB-C ports to output video.
Just so costly...Just FYI. I have my M1 Mac mini connected to the Caldigit TS3+ dock and then use the DisplayPort from the dock to my Dell monitor DisplayPort input. Works perfectly.

Tell us WHICH 3rd-party apps you're using.

Unfortunately yes. That is the real blame of it. Not loosing one thunderbolt port. But the display output loss.My Mac Mini just arrived today. I need to use two monitors for work. If the HDMI port is not reliable, does this mean I am not going to be able to use two monitors?

There are reports that HDMI connection becomes stable only when running a 4k display in 59.97Hz (not 60Hz) and in sRGB.

The lack of multiple displays output is the bottleneck of the M1. People are getting angry about their new MBPs. Can you imagine that a MBP can only drive one external display?
When you use it in clamshell mode, you wil have only one display output.
Blame Apple for this. Or use a single display and be happy with your blaze fast MacMini, which was my choice here.
My HDMI is stable on the mini. I've got 4k on first display (USB-C Dell u2720q) and a 1200p (1920x1200 Dell 2407WFP-HC) on HDMI. No issues at all.Unfortunately yes. That is the real blame of it. Not loosing one thunderbolt port. But the display output loss.
