Choosing a 64GB MacBook Pro 16-inch results in a lead time of 8-9 weeks.

DRAM suppliers are generally carrying a healthy level of inventory, so there's no reason for this level of delay. In fact, PC DRAM prices are expected to decline for Q4 due to ramp down of WFH and remote learning.

Right now, other BTO configurations only have a 3-4 week lead time. I expect those dates to become late November as we get closer to launch.

We saw this situation back in 2019 and I posted a thread about it here. (The 16-inch model launched Nov. 13, 2019.)

At the moment in the UK you can't get a standard config one in an apple store and its 2 weeks+ to have one ordered, so I think that points to something sooner than the end of November unless Apple are really going to leave Stores with no stock for nearly 2 months?

I think UK has unique problems with logistics as we've seen in the news.

If I choose a silver base model, it's saying:

So we shouldn’t be expecting any delay or what?

Everything on the Apple Store is pointing to late November availability.

Right now, if you place an order for a 16-inch model, it has an ETA of mid- to late-October. If manufacturing sites were ramping NOW for the new M1X, these delivery dates would not be possible. They would be busy ramping and creating stock, not making old models. Therefore, we know that is not happening.

There is a blackout window for 16-inch delivery during the month of November, which suggests that is time of ramp up. Ramp up early November for delivery in late November.
