Trust me, dude. Apple doesn't need your help. They have their own marketing department.

Many people like me don’t see double monitor as a pro feature. I don’t need a MacBook Pro which is practically the same price as a MacBook Air anyway. Not a surprise. What funny is that people want Air to be Pro Mac. People, there is a reason Apple sells Basic/Air Macs and Pro Macs. If you want a Pro features u have to buy 14"/16" MacBook Pro (2021). Don't forget that Air is fanless laptop.
No, you're confused. Completely. The article is LITERALLY about how the SAME chip in that low end Mac officially supports only 1 display, and so do the M2 powered machines.I know, the most low end Mac you can buy supports 2 external displays, this contradicts your statement.
But Apple sees and we can't do anything about that. Many people like me don’t see double monitor as a pro feature. I don’t need a MacBook Pro which is practically the same price as a MacBook Air anyway.
Nope Poster saidBut with MacBook Air you have also 1 internat display, so it is basically the same 😂 And Mac mini has cooling system when MacBook Air is fanless. Can you imagine anyone enter 2 external 4k displays, run multiple safari tabs, Final Cut Pro on tiny laptop without single fan? Where are you coming from people ...

This chip is copied and pasted from MacBook Air, why don't you get it? As I mentioned earlier. They did it with basic iPad and iPhone SE, they put new chip to old designed machines. Same here. Accept it or not, but at least stop crying.Nope Poster said
"Who the **** buys a low end Mac to connect it to 2 displays?"
13" MBP does have a fan and has the same limitation so your analogy doe not hold water.
Look, even driving two 1080p displays with the internal display “off”, is too much for this laptop, while a single 4K display which is literally four 1080p put together works just fine. But with MacBook Air you have also 1 internat display, so it is basically the same 😂 And Mac mini has cooling system when MacBook Air is fanless. The idea of MacBook Air is a thin, light laptop made for copywriters, students etc. Basic tasks. No need for 2 external displays here.
Correct, because Apple see's it that way and nothing elseBut Apple sees and we can't do anything about that.

And yes I can imagine those things you described. I’ve used an M1, I have followed the benchmarks and real life testing, and the chip is more than capable of handling such basic things without a fan. (Or with a fan, since you know the M2 mbp has the same limit).
Someone making the display driver stack is either a complete moron or this is an attempt at product segmentation. I’m going to bet on the latter.
It can run 2 but not while the built in display is running. Basically it can run 2 displays not including internalA single TB is fully capable of dual 4K displays.
Speaking of which, M2 is still stuck with TB3/USB4 instead of the TB4 seen on M1 Pro/Max/Ultra Macs.
I was thinking I would get the New M2 Air, but between the price hikes, lack of TB4, and the single external display I'm suddenly in no hurry. Guess I'll wait for the reviews.
That's nice and all, but the built in display is tiny so I always use my laptops in clamshell mode (if I'm at a desk) and therefore the internal display might as well not exist. And I'm not sure what I'd ever use AirPlay for - I don't watch video on my Mac I use my Apple TV or iPad for that.let's not forget it can support the built-in, an external and an airplay display simultaneously, yep
Oh I get it, nothing to cry about thats for sure. Does not change the fact that this is a basic feature, the M1 Mac mini which I bought last year was the first Mac that I purchases since 2012. If Apple keeps insisting that I must pay $2500 Canadian for Laptop that supports 2 external displays, this may be my last Mac for another 10 years. This chip is copied and pasted from MacBook Air, why don't you get it? If MBAir display is too tiny then buy an iMac. What the ****. I don't get rhetoric of some users here. That's nice and all, but the built in display is tiny - as in might as well not exist - and airplay isn't a proper display.
For me at this means I might for the M3 before I upgrade to Apple Silicon.
For example I wanted bigger screen (15-16") with macOS, while I'm not a Pro user. So I was kinda pushed to buy 16" MacBook Pro, so I did it. I'm happy with it, love the display, love the speakers but probably Im not using more than 20% of its power. This is Apple. You have to pay premium here, you accept it or you leave.Oh I get it, nothing to cry about thats for sure. But I don't need external display, internal is fine for me xD I guess English isn't your strong suit or thinking in general. Well. Good luck. Hope you will find your dream Windows machine! If MBP 14"display is too tiny then buy an iMac. What the ****. I don't get rhetoric of some users here.
Interesting considering you are suggesting that a person buying a laptop replace it for an iMac. I used your exact analogy and threw it in your face and you still can't understand. I see when you lose an argument you have to insult people calling them stupid and questioning their competency in english. But I don't need external display, internal is fine for me xD I guess English isn't your strong suit or thinking in general. There is zero "Pro" about this ffs. This is one of the most glaring short falls of all the M-series chips. Not a surprise. What funny is that people want Air to be Pro Mac. Read again what the guy wrote. He complained about too tiny display on MacBook Air and that's why he needs Big external displays, if it is so then why he is buying MacBook Air? I wanted 16" MacBook so I bought one, not 14" and then complained about screen size... And if I wanted 2 external displays then I would buy MacBook Pro instead of Air. If it is too expensive for someone then there is plenty of Windows laptops. Oh god.Interesting considering you are suggesting that a person buying a laptop replace it for an iMac. 8k TV's aren't common yet but u already want to plug 8k monitor? I think they'll announce Mac Pro for this soon. There is zero "Pro" about this ffs. This is one of the most glaring short falls of all the M-series chips.
Even the Pro models have all this power for processing 8K video at an amazing speed, but no ability to actually connect to an 8K monitor and view the results. WTAF.

And you missed the fact that he edited his post?" I always use my laptops in clamshell mode (if I'm at a desk) "
Did you miss the part where he said " (if I'm at a desk) "
He wants a laptop but when he is at a desk he does not want to use the tiny laptop display. I think you are the one that has reading difficulties. I think you have to read what he wrote again
Not common, but they exist, and more importantly, Apple brags about the M-series ability to process 8K super fast, but not a single one of their M-series machines can view it. It's just embarrassing.8k TV's aren't common yet but u already want to plug 8k monitor? I think they'll announce Mac Pro for this soon.
