FWIW. Established human factors engineering guidelines would never allow sharp radii on operator controls or contact surfaces. Apple routinely ignores these guidelines - presumably to achieve the look they want.
Why? It had a **** processor and keyboard and ports.macbook 12 - i miss you ....
i had a 2016 12" for 6 years. used it for email, web, notes, writing, calendar, affinity photo, rapidweaver. etc etc. often 5 or 6 apps open at once. Why? It had a **** processor and keyboard and ports.
This reminds me of the person on here a few years ago. They were going to apply nail polish to their Mac, or something like that! Can't find the thread unfortunately.Someone on another forum added vinyl to theirs citing the same sharpness hahaha. Another one also used sandpaper but then took it back to apple because the aluminium was scratched. Jesus where do these people come from ! 🤣🤣🤣
"The new M2 Air: a cut above the rest"
If you throw it like Oddjob’s hat will it cut the head off a statue?I just received my new starlight MBA today. I use it mostly on my lap on the couch. I have had the M1 MBA for a couple of months (still 90-day return window Costco) and before that several versions of 15" MacBook Pros forever. Anyhow, after using it for a short time I am noticing that when I type the edge is really sharp and digging/cutting into my skin. Uncomfortably so. Has anybody else noticed this?
By the looks of it, no it isn't. LolSo it's not cutting edge technology?
any edge will leave "lines" in your palmNot like actually cutting the skin, just digging in and leaving lines, red marks, etc. Previous unibody models the edge seems to be more rounded and smooth. Granted I am not a touch typist on the couch, so maybe its an awkward hand position, but it is pretty noticebale.
The 16" did not make it better for me. So frustrating.I'm finding the sharp edge annoying as well. I think it comes down to the size of your hands. Unfortunately my hands are just the right size where the edge digs into the base of my palm. That didn't happen on my old 15" MBP. I tried my sisters 14" MBP and the distance between the keyboard and the edge is just slightly longer such that I don't have that problem. Obviously on the 16" MBP there is no issue at all as my wrist lies flat on the surface, away from the edge.
My advice for someone considering a MBA would be to try it and see. It all depends on your hand size. I'm beginning to think I should have gotten the 14" MBP just of this issue alone. It really is bothersome, but I suppose I'll just live with it.
I could shave with itJust don't run your neck along the edge, you will be fine....![]()
Shhh, don't tell TSA. The agents will startthe edge is really sharp and digging/cutting into my skin
