appears you have the exact MBP that I have, on Sequoia also. Just curious (without hijacking the OP's thread) why you haven't updated to Tahoe?

Pretty much, it's clear that it wasn't polished at release time, both in terms of "design" and in terms of "bugs". I'm really hesitant to hop over while it is still being polished. I can see that they have been making meaningful improvements with each release (26.1, 26.2, 26.3)... but I'd rather hop onto the "improved" version that has sort of solidified, rather than "live through that". I did get bit by bugs in Sequoia by going in too early (firewall, calculator) so I am really gun-shy now.

For Tahoe, there's almost nothing in the way of new features that I am interested in. The only one I can think of is the spam and message categorization in the Messages app. Sequoia is really solid at this point, still gets security updates, and can run current versions of all of my apps. I'm not a bleeding edge guy. (I used to be but I have limited patience for that now.) Why risk the disruption? If I hit a snag and have to go back, that would be a pain. I use my Mac for so many things, I often feel like if there is any snag then I will hit it. The longer I wait, the more stuff that will have been either fixed or at least "figured out" by the community.

I keep up on many threads in the Tahoe subforum, seeing was has been fixed (and what new issues pop up), and I am constantly evaluating when to switch. I think it's going to be another few months. Maybe 26.5.

For some additional specific concerns, see my observations in the first post of this thread, where I'm actually asking the community to weigh in on this very thing... https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...d-is-it-time-to-upgrade-from-sequoia.2477554/
