M4 mini gets warm when not in use.

A question - a bit off-topic but fan-related.
Has anyone come from an Intel iMac? Looking to replace my 2020 iMac (Intel) for a Mac mini (will probably be the M6 by now) but wondering about the fan issue. My iMac often runs the fans, slowing down games (only Big Fish type games, so I would imagine low demand). A bit anoying.
But do the silicon chips run cooler - therefore less fan activity or is that a myth ?
Has anyone experienced the change from Intel to Apple Silicon?
